💯 agree...had to know stunts and slant assignments, but never knew what was going on behind me unless an LB was blitzing off my hip. I still probably couldn't explain what cover 2 is😁 See ball, get ball 💪🏼
Defensive line is one of the easiest positions on the field to learn. Honestly, possibly the easiest. We are very simple creatures. See ball, get ball.
You pretty much need to hear one single word in the huddle to be told where to line up and that’s it. For stunts/movements/blitzes, you already know all the patterns from past experience, so you just have to quickly calibrate to what the new team calls them. And there are plenty of little cheats built in to learn quick. Exit = End goes first, tackle wraps. Tex = Tackle goes first, end wraps. One team may call it Ears & Thumbs instead of Exit & Tex. Easy switch to learn.
And if all else fails, you just ask the guy next to you.
But in reality, DL is very simple to learn the alignments and assignments. It’s the technique and execution that’s the difficult part. But a guy like Jeffrey Simmons has zero problem with that obviously, that part is the whole reason you bring him in!

Going to be a Bronco. Thank you to Coach Taylor, Coach Bell, Bolles, all my youth coaches, teammates and especially my family and friends for believing in me.
Now back to playoff run.

It was great to be back at our alma mater with a big group of family and friends. So amazing to see all the 53s supporting @GuarneraJake (and some still pulling for RU too😁). It's a bit of a stretch with an OL but one day I'm going to see someone I DON'T know wearing his jersey!

Jake Guarnera toughing it out on one leg. One of the guys on this team showing a ton of heart in addition to Tommy Carr, of course, who has been fantastic. Carr's arm will get stronger, and he's going to be a great college QB. His instincts are incredible.
Thank you @Jbooty88 for the compliment of Jake. We're extremely proud of him and his commitment to the program, his teammates and to winning.
Thinking back on the @UMichFootball game today.. Jake Guarnera has a case for MVP. Clearly not 100%, clearly battling with some injuries, but was and is total warrior. Quite literally putting his body on the line for his team. Extremely intelligent as well making all of the calls up front. I’m not sure Michigan would’ve won that game today without Guarnera.
Despite what some people believe, most college athletes actually do go to class. Some raise the bar and study things like mechanical engineering.

Has the @NFL explained this penalty yet?
Ultimately UM had plenty of opportunities to win and didn't capitalize, so it's on the coaches/players but the officiating was as bad as I've seen, especially in the first half. It was at a point where any big play they made you were looking around for a random flag to appear.
Works his ass off and is continually improving his craft

Comments under Brice's post are examples of the lazy, uninformed rhetoric some people like to spew. Majority of FBS QBs have a private coach and many college students don't have classes on Fridays, particularly those that have to travel to games. 3-day bye weekend = "off days".
#Michigan HC Kyle Whittingham says QB Bryce Underwood went to California to work with a personal trainer on his off days during the bye week.
He made it clear that he didn’t miss any practice and actually got more work in despite what other reports stated.
