Following the stabbing in Stoke Park yesterday, a 17-year-old boy from Godalming was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and theft. He remains in police custody. The victim remains in hospital after sustaining serious injuries but is in a stable condition.

Update (7:50pm): The road has now reopened, but there are temporary traffic lights in place this evening.
Aldershot Road is currently closed at the junction with Northway. There is still access to Aldershot Road via Southway for vehicles travelling towards Fairlands. Please avoid the area and we will provide an update as soon as we can.

We are appealing for witnesses after we were called about a two vehicle collision in Compton yesterday afternoon, (19 July). The collision took place on The Street, Compton at around 8.40pm and involved a black Honda and a Silver Peugeot. 1/2
The two drivers, a 43-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man, were taken to hospital with serious injuries. If you saw the collision, have dashcam or any information, please contact us quoting PR/45220077352 via DM or by calling 111. 2/2

Sadly a pedestrian, a 56-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. The road is expected to remain closed for another three hours.
