38 years on from nearly losing my little finger in a fight with a lad with a knife, and the scar tissue *still* grumbles on the first cold day of autumn.

Subs open, poets! :)

Submissions are open for fiction, poetry and essays! As always, we are looking for work that challenges, re-imagines or undermines the status quo, work that pushes at the boundaries of form and function, work that is striking and beautiful. guttermag.co.uk/submit

I feel very lucky to have had three poems come out this summer, with @poetrywales @fourteenpoems, and @Gutter_Magazine. Sitting down to read each issue, I can almost pretend it's still the season (the fire's only for the aesthetic, not because of a chill) 🩵🩷💛
The summer issues of Poetry Wales, Gutter Magazine, and fourteen poems splayed out by two lit coral candles, in a cozy living room.

We were honoured to have Sara Mostafa as our Guest Reader for Issue 30. I'm sure that you will all agree that she has done a brilliant job! Her insight, perspective, and personal taste have been invaluable in the process of bringing 30 to life. 👏

Three Gutter issues for the price of one? Sounds too good to be true...🤔 For a fraction of their usual cost, you can buy three amazing issues from our back catalogue: 19, 20 & 21. One copy costs just £4, two are £7.50, and three are only £10(+p&p).

And last, but certainly not least, is our final awardee with @Gutter_Magazine Lucy Lauder! Lucy’s (she/her) work is always weird, often surreal, and sometimes funny. We cannot wait to share all 3 of our awardees creative responses! 🌟

This is one of my favourite poems combining the Olympics 🏊‍♂️ & Art 🎨 & poetry ✨ It was written after a pop culture class at @poetryschool and first published in @Gutter_Magazine in 2022.
