World’s smallest falcon (22-25 g) and world’s largest hummingbird (~20-26 g). Amazing to see how form matches function. @NMNH

Latest update on the Madeira Wildfires, another night and the fire gets closer. It’s now northwest of nesting ground. We believe that Zino’s Petrels are affected by smoke and fire. Although the fire has not reached the know nests yet it is moving north and could rotate east.

What a great end to a weekend trip in the Electric car. Extremely thankful to @HCBirding for the info and great to meet up with him at @Natures_Voice Fen Drayton RSPB today. Amazing views of Turtle Doves busily purring away, a sound I haven’t heard for years. Green peckers too 👍
