Bitcoin Core's v30 will be the version that has fractured its dominance. Time to embrace Bitcoin Knots & other implementations for true dev decentralization. No more benevolent Core dictators. Time has come to embrace a more decentralized future for Bitcoin’s development.

The market understands that you are willing to spend billions to keep it close to $100, at the expense of MSTR shareholders

Unpopular opinion: @Coinkite is still the gold standard for funding the lifestyle of low-life influencers, and they'll get their money's worth. nitter.gq/oomahq/status/20933332…

* only true if you accept the fact that Bitcoin activated BIP 110 and BLAKE2b

The community has spoken. 180-day maturity, it is.
Milestone: This is the first version of Knots released by someone other than myself. Congrats @kwsantiago!
I'm fully behind PR#468 (keeps temporary 180 day rolling CBM until RDTS expiry).
It's the cleanest option right now IMO. Temporary, already tested, keeps the gains we have seen, and avoids being locked in or messy problems down the line.
Must watch.

CAPTURE Part 4: THE MACHINE
The fourth and final installment is out.
Bitcoin Magazine wasn’t just covering the fight over Bitcoin’s future. Its parent operated an Ordinals trading desk, invested in businesses tied to the ecosystem, and maintained editorial policies that exempted parts of that same business.
Then came an $80,000/month marketing contract, with an option for Nakamoto Inc. to buy BTC Inc at a valuation tied to its earnings, in a window that included the OP_RETURN fight. Nakamoto exercised the option.
Readers were not consistently told about these commercial relationships.
A documented investigation into the commercial interests and media infrastructure surrounding the Bitcoin Core controversy.

There is no balance.
Cypherpunk values or sponsorship money.
Pick one.

I truly love playing and hanging out with you, Joe. So I say this as a friend.
Dismissing the work of the most thoughtful and thoughrogh journalist in Bitcoin as something people should TL;DR is not a good look.
I know you might think Mr. Cat is your enemy, but he is not. On the contrary, he's a man of greater integrity than most others in the space, and IMO, all bitcoiners should read this article series.
They should read the rebuttals too, of course, and make up their own opinions, but disregarding it as controversy click-bait is far more more telling about you than Mr. Cat.
Bitcoin can only give you true self-sovereignty if you do your homework. All the homework. The economic principles, the technical aspects, and figuring out who you can trust or not. There are scammers everywhere.
I have to balance cypherpunk values and sponsorship money too, and I know it's a tricky thing to navigate while keeping your soul uncorrupted.
You quit Cointelegraph for a reason. You're a bitcoiner. Act the part, ffs!
Looking forward to continuing this conversation in-person.

If more Bitcoiners had balls and actually practiced the principles that they preached, we could definitely win. But too many Bitcoin influencers are optimizing for their own personal careers instead. The space is full of spooks too, and too few seem to notice or care

Care to address the Blockstream ponzi allegations? You pretend to be a journalist, right?

The lows these people will sink to, in covering for Adam and the shitstorm at Blockstream. Pretending there is nothing to see, and now resorting to making up complete lies about Matthew Kratter being behind another independent researcher.
Time will expose all of them.
There have been allegations that NatInfoSec and I are the same person, or that I am the author of some or all of his articles about Blockstream's alleged ponzi scheme. This is a complete and total lie, brought to you by friends of Andy like @JoeNakamoto and @coinjoined.
Two minutes of research will demonstrate that NatInfoSec has a long history as a security researcher, who has done good work like exposing fentanyl traffickers, Russian drone makers, etc. Link is in the reply.
Why are Joe and Chris not interested in getting to the bottom of the Blockstream allegations, instead of attempting to shoot the messenger? Looks like Joe just dropped Blockstream as a sponsor, so I think there's a good chance that he thinks NatInfoSec's allegations are actually correct, and that Joe is trying to distance himself slowly from Andy.
Bitcoiners will remember forever how Joe and Chris behaved this year-- and history will not be kind to their reputations as well

Talking about "self-custody" on a network with mining as centralized as Bitcoin is as a silly as thinking you have sovereignty over the money in your bank account because you're the only person who knows your login password.

Spamcoin launched Aug 8th. The former miners left Bitcoin for their airdrop scamcoin.
Bitcoin continued on. The BLAKE2b HF wasn't until Aug 30, and there was no split over it.
Stunning insight from a man whose entire livelihood is Sha256 ASICs.
His multimillion dollar warehouse will be expensive useless space heaters on Blake2b.
But don’t worry, this is pure, unbiased technical analysis. Nothing to see here.
nitter.gq/BtcInfinityShow/status…
This week, @boomer_btc unpacks life after BIP-110: mining its first signaling block, why he later stepped back, and why he sees no path for the Blake2b fork. He also gets into Ocean, FPPS vs TIDES, DATUM and independent miners, SegWit spam, miners vs hashers, and corporations on a Bitcoin standard.
I don't think @boomer_btc fully considered downsides of backing BIP110. His early support didn't account for miners sticking with SHA256: turning that chain into shitcoin hard fork. Once risk became clear, he realized his ASIC livelihood would collapse if he kept backing Blake2b.
Andy Back's entire self-worth and the value he provides is now reduced to just distracting, memeing and dunking to hide the mountain of scandals he's under. Big "nothing to see here" energy. Makes you wonder if the house is about to crumble.
