“We actually wanted to shift even the verbiage from ‘distance learning’ to ‘connecting through crisis’ because primarily we wanted our students to experience connection." @trussleadership

Changing culture and climate to create learning and work environments that allow our students and adults to excel does not come from a program or curriculum. It comes from a place where we evaluate our psyche, our biases, our systems, and simply our way of being.
Relationships matter, no matter the circumstances. This will be all the more true when schools return in the fall in multiple delivery structures as a result of COVID-19. Consider building a safe, supportive environment prior to delving into content.

Get comfortable saying:
No
I need a hug
Can you help me with ______?
I was wrong
I would love your undivided attention
I can’t do this alone
I’m sorry
I’m feeling scared
Could you sit in silence with me?
What else needs to be on this list?

Very Well Said...👍
As teachers now serve their students through self-designed virtual lessons, there’s anxiety, but also an amazing opportunity! Perhaps teaching returns to being an art, led by teachers who believe in the power of learning to change young lives. Fly, my friends!❤️
