Please see my statement on the unacceptable conditions at Falls of Point West Apartments in Sharpstown. Cooling buses will be available today until 6:30 p.m. and tomorrow from 8 a.m.–6:30 p.m. Our social work team is also on-site connecting residents with resources for food assistance, basic needs, and housing support. @HarrisCountyAO is asking residents of the complex to file a complaint through the County Attorney’s Office or visit Stay Scam Free. Residents who need additional assistance can contact Harris County Precinct 4 at 832-927-4444 or [email protected]. We will continue working with our partners to connect residents with the help and resources they need.

Tropical Storm Edouard is forecast to move inland over eastern Texas on Tuesday, prompting tropical storm, storm surge, and flood warnings across the Texas and Louisiana coasts. Though short-lived, the system's primary threat is severe flash flooding, with 3 to 9 inches of rain expected to drench areas including the Houston metro. The system south of Louisiana has been upgraded to a 50% chance of development in the next 48hrs as it drifts WNW over the next few days. Regardless of whether it develops, this system is expected to bring an increased risk of heavy rain and flash flooding by Tuesday. #TXwx
ALT Tropical Weather Outlook map issued by the National Weather Service Houston/Galveston at 12 PM on August 30, 2026. The graphic displays a 50% chance of tropical formation for a system south of Louisiana that may form over the next few days as it drifts west-northwestward. A note clarifies that the shaded area on the map represents where the disturbance may form and is not a track forecast cone. The graphic also notes a 20% chance of development for the remnants of Dolly over the next 7 days. Forecast impacts include an expected increase in the chance of showers and thunderstorms by Tuesday, with locally heavy rainfall possible. As students are heading back to school, we celebrated 25 miles of newly built sidewalks in @CyFairISD. As a mom and former teacher, getting our kids to school safely is deeply personal, and I am so proud that we have now built 75 total miles of sidewalks near 104 schools across Precinct 4.
