This is all fear.
Our number 1 customer is the U.S.A, and that wouldn't change.
We'd renegotiate all the other deals.
Right out of the gate, PM Mark Carney took on a Justin Trudeau legacy project that no one was asking for with no business case.
Liberals said it was in the national interest to tax Canadian families $4,000 for a project most Canadians would not use in the best-serviced corridor in the country.
Conservatives immediately saw the $60–90 billion back-of-the-napkin estimate for what it was- a boondoggle in the making.
Now internal docs show it ballooning to $150 billion- a $14,500 hit to Canadian families. The cost has doubled, and they haven't even laid a single metre of track. How much further will the cost balloon?
Conservatives want to cancel Alto, and fix what we have: theglobeandmail.com/politics…

Not a single metre of track has been laid and already costs are projected to double.
A Liberal Club of insiders gets bonuses from projects like this, while taxpayers get stuck paying for another massive boondoggle.
Say NO to Alto and save $14,500 per Canadian family: conservative.ca/cpc/halt-the…

The trade war serves Carney well.
He will never want it to end.
And it shows.
New poll shows Liberals with 17-point lead over Tories, Carney with 80% approval in Quebec

JUST IN: Canada’s high speed rail estimate has DOUBLED from $60-90 to $150 BILLION
For $150 BILLION you can have any one of the following:
>No GST for 3 years
>5,000 water bombers
>3,470 new schools
>200,000 long term care beds
>28 new nuclear reactors
This is insane.

Yet another NIMBY, anti development politician and party. This is exactly why we are in the position we are in. It’s time we start attracting capital and creating opportunities for our young people.
After consulting with thousands of Albertans, Alberta's New Democrats are calling for a pause on new AI data centre projects until a credible impact assessment framework is in place.

As long as @MarkJCarney gets an approval-rating bump every time he picks a fight with the U.S., a trade deal is politically inconvenient. Unfortunately, economic reality doesn’t care about polling. #cdnpoli

Soon I have to wake up my husband and tell him the 50% tariffs are staying. When he went to bed, we still had hope. Maybe we could survive 25%. Maybe if Keystone got approved, we’d be okay. Now a man who has worked hard for forty years—and fought cancer for the last two—will open his eyes to one more piece of bad news. The politicians will be fine. The government workers will be fine. The entire public sector, cushioned by cost-of-living raises, lifetime benefits, and golden pensions, will be fine. It’s the private sector that will take the hit. And I honestly don’t believe a single Carney supporter—or anyone in the media—either understands that, or cares.

A never-ending trade war is brutal on the Canadian economy.
But it has been political gold for the Liberals.
Keep that in mind.

Canada has an affordability crisis. A mental health crisis. A education and healthcare crisis and what does Carney do? August 12, 2026, Prime Minister Mark Carney’s federal government announced a $34 million investment to fund 141 climate resilience projects across 128 communities in Canada.
Priorities.

Here is a chart showing economic growth since Mark Carney became Prime Minister in Q1 of 2025.
It is the worst.
Worse than Australia, the U.K., the G7, the EU, the U.S.
Worse than Mexico, which also shares a border and a trade dispute with the U.S.
Mark Carney promised to be first. He delivered the worst.

Was the decade of Trudeau destruction reversed?
Did Canada suddenly become sane and normal again?
Is the housing crisis, the health care crisis, the food bank crisis, the homelessness crisis, the violent crime crisis, the immigration crisis, the woke crisis, the indoctrination of our children crisis, the soaring debt and deficit crisis, and the corruption in the liberal government suddenly over?
The answer is no.
So I don't need "new material" until we have a government willing to fix what Trudeau destroyed.
Replying to @GreatBig_Sea
Are you still obsessed with a retired Prime Minister?

Global Affairs Canada, Anita Anands portfolio gave the African Nation of Ghana 135 million for 3200 Scooters, that works out to 40 thousand per scooter, by comparison you can buy a Harley here for 10 thousand. Someone got filthy rich.
