What are these strange lights dancing in the night sky over #Chippenham? No sign of a beam from the ground as I first assumed it was someone playing tricks with a powerful torch

PIDDINGTON WILL HAVE ITS SAY. 🇬🇧 On 15 September—Battle of Britain Day and UN Democracy Day—our village votes. Meanwhile, the Government proposes a huge asylum site while redacting vital details on water, sewage, electricity and operations. After repeated questioning, Andy Burnham still cannot provide the answers. This is peaceful. This is legal. This is democracy. [email protected] Objection to Urgent Crown Development Application MOD Bicester (Site A) Application reference: PCU/RARE/C3105/3378843 Site: Bicester Garrison, Launton Road, Oxfordshire, OX25 1AE Applicant: Home Office The proposal closes on 17 September. Speak up before it is too late. Thank you to everyone standing with Piddington—the village that roars. 🦁 #PiddingtonRoars #BattleForBritain #DemocracyDay #Oxfordshire #GovernmentTransparency Busing the guests from #Piddington to #Wheatley #Oxford #Thame #Wallingford #Abingdon #Bicester #Aylesbury #HighWycombe and #MiltonKynes

Yet another example of someone who thinks the rules don’t apply to them. Just off a roundabout outside Tesco at Hathaway retail park in #Chippenham. It’s on a route to the rail station so busy with cars and pedestrians. #WiltsPolice please note

#TheNewsQuiz on #BBCR4 is a go-to show but this first episode lacked truly witty panel members - I would only rate one of them and fear the use of tick boxes rather than talent was employed

#joshtongue #testmatch Well bowled, but when hit for six why keep bowling the same delivery? Use your brain not testosterone to decide follow-up!

#BobHarris on #BBCR2 about #DollyParton said he agreed there is nothing that cannot be improved in the world with a little more love. I also agree and used 1Corinthians ch13 to introduce a church council meeting yesterday: Read it and understand love is supreme in serving Christ

Guilty secret, I have quite enjoyed some of the previous #Reacher series on #Prime, but this latest one is awful: wooden acting , badly scripted, violence casually included and unbelievable, but bloody. Foul language that seems also to be normalised as if f…ing is ok (it is not)

- Denmark’s corporation tax is lower than Britain’s & moving lower - Denmark has a much more flexible labour market than the UK - Denmark supports private provision of education rather than taxing it - Denmark deters unsustainable illegal migration & manages its borders with effect - Denmark is now ranked higher than the UK for economic freedom in multiple international indices This year, Denmark is expecting economic growth of 4.2%. This will be great for people’s living standards, their employment prospects, investment in public services, & the confidence of their national psyche. We should learn from Denmark. It can be done! 🇩🇰📈🇩🇰 cphpost.dk/2026-08-18/busine…

This is the #publicfootpath #rightofway next to #KinHouse #KingtonLangley that appears to have been deliberately blocked, as well as neglected. #WiltshireCouncil need to deal with this

Where are the #prophets in the #ChurchofEngland? #Love is there but unless we attend to #1Cor14v1 we lose effect and become ever weaker: Love may be the greatest but it has to be in combination, not isolation

#parking a car can be tricky: today I slotted in to one of 2 spaces by a country playing field, next to a large Volvo. An older lady appeared and immediately harangued me aggressively about making her exit difficult (it wasn’t). I did not respond in kind even when it continued…

First thought was just to sit tight and ignore her after telling her that rudeness meant I would not move. But WWJesusDo? So I moved my car. Lady then approaches and humbly apologises. I hold her hand and say it really doesn’t matter any more. A beautiful moment. Thankyou Lord

Fantastic #tomato season, beginning with first ripe #fandango - a new favourite. #Nagina prolific mini-plum also fruiting well and the strongest growing. Attention needed to greenhouse shading though with this welcome #heatwave

In 2006 #RobertHarris wrote in a novel set in ancient Rome: “There are few forces in politics harder to resist than a feeling that something is inevitable, for humans move as a flock, and will always rush like sheep towards the safety of a winner.” How true, how prescient

40 years ago a #Guardian cartoon by #PosySymmonds showed George Webber driven mad by a bank rejecting his signature as authentic: I am having the same experience with #HMRC Gov login. Crazily complex and even when ID confirmed it went into a huff and refused to speak to me!

Near miss for Jonny #Bairstow at #Taunton, while betting with #JoeRoot

The paradox of #Christianity #Faith is that you cannot ‘see’ clearly until you open your spiritual eyes, which you cannot do by your own effort. So you have to take a leap of faith…reach out and trust the evidence…grasp the hand of Christ…and believe. And live.

#ParliamentaryDebate #privileges debate live. How can MPs fixated on their smart phones claim to be weighing up the arguments as they decide how to respond? One female Labour MP in particular - we see you and note your behaviour.

Wise words for Lent: “We were made for more than our schedules, to-do lists or the expectations of others. We were created to spend time in the presence of God. To know Him and be known by Him. To be refreshed and redirected in order to fulfill our God-given purposes. ‘TheChosen’

#VernonKay let’s just say I would like to put you in a small room with #AndrewFlintoff…And he who speaks about what he does not have a clue about is an embarrassment. Anyway I will be off to cricket nets tomorrow with other 70 year olds from Wiltshire Seniors… Howard
