Labour have some big challenges in transport. Seeing HS2 reinstated and East-West Rail electrification would be good starting points.
Louise Haigh MP @LouHaigh has been appointed Secretary of State for Transport @transportgovuk.

Spa is a great circuit to watch a motorsport race, and the 6h of Spa really delivered! #WEC #SpaFrancorchamps #6hSpa – at Spa, Belgium

Who says a bicycle isn't practical? I can even get windscreen wipers for my car by bicycle.

It's a real shame that the Wii U online servers are closing down tomorrow, it feels far too soon for a console the released in *checks notes* 2012! That being said, I've just hopped on some Mario Kart 8, and I can barely get half a lobby together. #WiiU #MarioKart #Nintendo

Yes Mario Kart was directly replaced by MK8D on the switch, so perhaps it's a poor example, but it also partly highlights the tiny sales numbers for the Wii U.

Good that the council is working with local operators to retain the park & ride site
1/3 Bedford Borough Council has worked with Grant Palmer and Central Bedfordshire Council to arrange replacement bus services, following the withdrawal of Stagecoach East's number 2 service between Flitwick, Ampthill, Bedford Park and Ride, and Bedford Bus Station, from Sunday.

Once again internet rumours about a gaming company were far over blown. It also all sounds like messaging Xbox has had since at least 2020 in regard to cross-play & play anywhere (so long as it's Xbox and windows)

Today we’re also continuing our commitment to expanding the communities we reach. We are in the process of bringing 4 Xbox games to other platforms. These are games which have been available to Xbox players for at least a year — including hidden gems that deserve to be experienced more widely, and live service games whose communities will benefit from welcoming even more players! We’ll share more details on these titles soon.

One thing I would like to see is game pass on Steam, or minimum on steam deck. Having access to local play Xbox games on the go would be super handy and I don't want to be buying games I can already access in a subscription - not that Xbox will see this 🤷‍♂️

It's nice to see that infrastructure can be constructed prior to people moving into the new houses too! It will be interesting to see what the area to the east will look like in a few years time.

Good to see ticket offices at rail stations will remain open. Just shows why it is important to make your voice heard with proposals like this.

The cancellation of HS2 is the most backwards, regressive, policy he's announced. And even worse, the tories' pro-driving agenda will worsen lung cancer for many people across the country - even with EVs. The tories are scared and trying to win back their core voters...
"It's time for a change, and we are it" PM Rishi Sunak finishes his speech by promising to "give the country what it so sorely needs… so that we can build a brighter future for everyone" Follow live bbc.in/3rLuHjj

Rishi seems to want London (and other towns & cities) to look like this... For context: this photo is now the location of the London Eye.
We are a nation of drivers. Most of us use a car every day and, for many, life would be difficult without their car. But too often, drivers feel under attack. That changes today with a long-term plan to improve drivers' experience on the road. Here’s how 👇🧵

This country already gives out too many incentives to drive for every single journey. The only way to improve the experience of driving is to make it possible for less people to drive and use active travel or public transport.
23
I'm not even surprised, Sunak willingly going to continue limiting the freedom to choose the best mode of transport for each journey and make towns more unsafe. Can we have a general election now please?

A government that on the one hand speaks of reducing 'disturbance' caused by legitimate peaceful protest, while fueling the fire (and causing it) on the other.
Today we are saying no to @JustStop_Oil and their political wing the Labour Party  We will power ahead with new oil and gas because it’s in the best interests of the British people, of our economy and of our national security
