Yesterday, one of @HS2ltd's two tunnel boring machines began its journey from Old Oak Common to Euston – a powerful sign that transformation is underway. Our CEO, Matthew Carpen, joined other key stakeholders as the machine set off.

At the Washwood Heath site on Drews Lane, I met with HS2 leaders to discuss the hand back of land that could create thousands of jobs for local people and unlock huge opportunities for the region.
It was also fantastic to see some of the best engineering in the world on site - this infrastructure will transform how Britain connects.

Engineers have moved a huge concrete box structure under the busy A46 between Coventry and Kenilworth, as part of the work to build HS2. The road is due to reopen on Thursday.
