It actually is an attack on success to take over 50 percent of someone’s income for them having worked harder, longer, and achieved more. You are actively punishing enterprising, intelligence, creativity, and persistence by doing that. Tax property not labor. Property is far more dependent on the state for appreciation, improvement, and security.
Nobody is suggesting people shouldn’t enjoy the rewards of hard work, take luxury holidays or send their children to private schools. But a household earning £436,000 a year is comfortably within the top 1% of UK households. That’s an extraordinarily privileged financial position, however hard they’ve worked to achieve it. Recognising that isn’t an attack on success, nor is asking those with the broadest shoulders to contribute more. And surely the answer to poor state schools is to improve them, not simply accept that a good education should depend on parental wealth?

Trade: Colts are sending three-time Pro-Bowl DT DeForest Buckner back to the 49ers, the team that made him a 2016 first-round pick before dealing him to Indianapolis in 2020, per me and @rapsheet. Now Buckner returns to San Francisco, fortifying the 49ers defensive line.

Man I get it his play has warranted it but I cannot for the life of me remember the last time a Raven in year one of signing on a big or medium money deal was benched for terrible play for good

Why is John Simpson above going to the bench ?

The Ravens were not listed among the teams that reportedly showed "varying levels of interest" in former-Colts and now-Seahawks OL Quenton Nelson, per @JFowlerESPN Fowler listed the Packers, Bears and Eagles as the teams that reportedly were among those that showed interest

I’d steer clear of comparing the compensation of Jurgens and Nelson. Jurgens is under contract on a team friendly deal until 2029 whereas Nelson is about to sign a massive contract

What’s funny with all of this is despite so many bad FA signings in the last 2 years and his ass backwards defensive philosophy this is also the best group of WRs Lamar has ever had. Also when Vega is healthy it will likely be the best OL he’s had outside of 2019. Fascinating he’s fucking up so badly in so many ways but importantly he’s actually handed Lamar a top 10 group of WRs and a decent OL (purely in theory at the moment). That doesn’t absolve him of his sins obviously. You would never expect me to say that anyways… they are a long group of sins: Mark Andrews extension, Hawkins signing, Simpson signing, Awuzie Re-signing, the way he handed C post Linderbaum and Guard post Marshall Yanda/Powers, etc etc
Ive been 1 of erics bigger defenders over the years. I have no clue what that dude is doing as GM the last 2 years. Over paying for bad players and not willing to pay up to get great 1s is bum ass gm shit. U gave up a 2 for Jurgens but not Nelson is so fuckin wild

Feels like people are not reading the whole tweet. It’s pretty clearly implied to be grade 1. That’s 1-3 weeks. He could literally be out there this week if it’s mild enough of an injury.
I’m just not even bothering with this season lol. I can’t do more than a single game with Jones at guard again.

Compensation update; The Seahawks are sending a 2027 third-round pick and 2028 fifth-round round pick to the Colts in exchange for Quenton Nelson.

We were never going to bench John Simpson and the Colts would’ve wanted a 3rd or 4th to take his money on. Vega’s injury is short term. Grade 1 McL sprain so that’s not serious enough to give impetus to such a move. I’d have loved a Q acquisition btw #RavensFlock
I’m sure Ravens twitter is reacting rationally to the Quentin Nelson trade

Wouldn’t be shocked if we could send Fubb as part of the deal so instead of a 4th we send a 5th or 6th + Fubb
Not sure a more impactful player will be moved the remainder of the deadline.

Here is Ian saying it’s short term xitter.cf/rapsheet/status/211505… So that means it’s grade 1.
No one anywhere has said its a grade 1 sprain, dumbass

Trade: Colts have agreed to send eight-time Pro-Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, per me and @rapsheet. Nelson is on an expiring contract and the Colts are opting to get back draft capital now before they could lose him in free agency. But an all-time Colt now moves on to the Seahawks.

The 49ers, Broncos, Browns, Eagles, Giants, and Ravens are among the teams to inquire about trading for Quenton Nelson. The Colts won’t be able to obtain a 2027 1st for Nelson, but a 2nd-round pick certainly seems feasible.

Let’s fucking goo!! Great one MCL sprain that’s the best realistic news we could’ve received #RavensFlock
#Ravens first-round guard Vega Ioane, one of the NFL’s best rookies this season, suffered an MCL sprain against the #Bengals, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo. It’s considered to be a short-term injury, though he will miss a little time.

Do you guys not do half now and half after the job is done? Or some kind of itemized list where for each piece of the work you get done you get a percentage of the pay? These are pretty normal things to do in the US.
A mate of mine is an electrician and he flat out refuses to do any work for Indians now. He’s says he’s fed up agreeing a price with them for a job then after the work is done they argue over the invoice.
