75 years ago Ian Stephens lost his job as editor of The Statesman because he exposed the massacre of 237,000 Muslims in Jammu. November 6 is celebrated as the Jammu Martyrs Day but situation in J & K not changed yet. BJP government is pursuing a new plan to turn the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir into a minority. The massacre that began on November 5th and 6th,1947 continues in Jammu and Kashmir even today, and that there is no one to stop it. Read my new column 👇

My house detention continues unabated for the past week with police deployment and barricades in place. Unfortunate that will not be able to deliver the Friday sermon at Jama Masjid Srinagar to the faithful, today. Arbitrary and authoritarian measures to curtail freedom of movement and speech, only betray the official narrative of “Normalcy” in Kashmir.

An informal poll by the United Nations Security Council on Thursday showed former Costa Rican Vice President Rebeca Grynspan extended her lead as frontrunner in the race to become the 10th @UN secretary-general. Grynspan received 12 votes in favor and three against on the 15-member council. Good Luck @RGrynspan you are the favourite.
Bottom line: Rebeca Grynspan (@RGrynspan) is the uncontested frontrunner to become the next UN Secretary-General, yet the three discourage votes raised more questions than answers. The gridlock continues.

HRF condemns the arbitrary detention and harassment of prominent independent journalist Camila Acosta (@acostacamila), Havana correspondent for @abc_es and reporter for @CubanetNoticias.
