بحضور قائد الجيش بالنيابة اللواء الركن حسان عوده، أُقيم حفل اختتام تمرين PEGASUS CEDAR 2026 الذي امتدّ لثلاثة أسابيع، نفّذه فريق بريطاني من الفوج الملكي الاسكتلندي والفوج المجوقل في الجيش اللبناني، بمشاركة عناصر من جيشَي الولايات المتحدة وإيطاليا وحضور عناصر من جيوش فرنسا وقبرص وقطر والأردن بصفة مراقبين. يحاكي التمرين القضاء على مجموعة إرهابية، وتخلّله استعمال الطائرات المسيّرة والطوافات والأسلحة المتوسطة.
حضر الحفل السفيرة القبرصية والسفير الأردني وممثل عن سفارة الولايات المتحدة الأميركية وممثل عن سفارة المملكة المتحدة، وعدد من الملحقين العسكريين، بالإضافة إلى ضباط من الجيش.
خلال الحفل، أكّد اللواء الركن عوده أنّ هذا التمرين يساهم في تعزيز الثقة المتبادلة، وترسيخ العمل المشترَك مع الدول الصديقة، مشيرًا إلى أنّ التعاون الدولي الحاصل من خلال التمرين يسمح بتبادل الخبرات على مستوى العمليات الأمنية. كما هنأ اللواء الركن عوده العسكريين على جهودهم المبذولة لإنجاح التمرين ونوّه بأدائهم الاحترافي، لا سيّما لناحية مواكبة التقدم التكنولوجي.

تفقَّد قائد الجيش العماد رودولف هيكل في قيادة الفوج المجوقل في ثكنة داني حرب - غوسطا أنشطة تمرين PEGASUS CEDAR 2026 المشترك الذي يمتد لثلاثة أسابيع، ويشارك فيه فريق بريطاني من الفوج الملكي الاسكتلندي والفوج المجوقل في الجيش اللبناني، إضافة إلى مشاركة عناصر من جيوش الولايات المتحدة وإيطاليا وفرنسا، وحضور عناصر من جيوش قبرص وقطر والأردن.
بعد زيارة المركز الميداني للعمليات والاستعلام التكتي، وحضور إيجاز حول مراحل التمرين وأهدافه، التقى العماد هيكل العسكريين الأجانب وعسكريي الجيش المشارِكين في التمرين، مشيدًا بجدّيتهم العالية التي تُحقق الاستفادة القصوى من التمرين، ومُشددًا على أهمية التعاون بين القوى المختلفة. وتوجّه إليهم بالقول: "إنّ مواصلة بذل الجهود والتدريب تُمكّن الجيش من تنفيذ مهماته رغم صعوبتها وكثافتها، فدوركم أساسي ومهم، ونتيجته تنعكس على صورة المؤسسة".

استقبل رئيس #مجلس_الوزراء الدكتور #نواف_سلام في السراي الكبير بعد ظهر اليوم وفدًا برلمانيًا بريطانيًا ضمّ رئيسة لجنة الشؤون الخارجية السيدة دام إيميلي ثورنبيري والنواب: ابتسام محمد، آلان جيميلي، وإدوارد موريلو، في حضور نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء الدكتور طارق متري والسفير البريطاني في #لبنان هاميش كاول.

الرئيس جوزاف عون مستقبلاً وفداً برلمانياً بريطانياً:
- نتطلع لاستمرار دعم بريطانيا للبنان وتأييدها في سعيه لابقاء الحضور الدولي في الجنوب بعد بدء انسحاب "اليونيفيل" مع مطلع العام 2027
- العمل قائم لتثبيت وقف اطلاق النار في الجنوب على ان يليه انسحاب القوات الإسرائيلية، وانتشار الجيش اللبناني وعودة الأهالي واطلاق الاسرى وبدء عملية الاعمار
- تحديد "المناطق النموذجية" لا يزال موضع بحث في انتظار موافقة الجانب الإسرائيلي عليها
