One Piece literally has an entire storyline in which the ruling elite hunt enslaved people for sport, treating them like animals. The consequences of that atrocity ultimately lead to Dragon joining forces with former slaves and other dissidents to establish the Revolutionary Army. How anyone can look at a narrative in which state-sanctioned slavery, racial oppression, and revolutionary resistance are fundamental to the overarching story and argue that its politics are merely incidental is beyond me.
