This is an interesting education on DRC. Sober, reflective and cuts through the noise no matter which side one belongs to. May peace reign in DRC!

In a semi-serious country, regardless of political affiliation, regardless as to whether you like Gen MK or loathe him, this picture would call for the immediate resignation of Justice Dr. Douglas Karekona Singiza. This is lawlessness on steroids. No one should wanna live in a country where this is okay. That’s not to say Judges should be apolitical. They have as much a right to choose as all other citizens. But this is patently absurd.

It’s becoming even funny at this point. How you a law maker, doesn’t see a problem with a judicial officer, worse, a head of the JSC to not only endorse any candidate or political outfit, but also endorse a serving army officer for a political position! Bambi I am sure Singiza had wanted to do this secretly so that he secures himself another promotion but because you lot are either clueless or it’s sheer impunity, you thought this portrays PLU as strong and popular.
This morning at the Office of the National Chairman in Nakasero, I was honoured to receive Hon. Justice Dr. Singiza Douglas Karekona, Chairperson of Uganda’s Judicial Service Commission, on a courtesy call. Justice Singiza warmly endorsed Gen. @mkainerugaba for President of Uganda. A powerful affirmation of the vision we share for a stronger, more just nation

Uganda is a republic not a monarchy, the president is elected by citizens, not anointed by birth; power belongs to the people not to the president who only exercises it on their behalf. So citizens have every right to make judgment of how they think/feel he is performing! – at Kampala, Uganda

Dr Kazibwe was holding no prisoners – extends his critique to folks such as Fareed Zakaria and Thomas Friedman, that they might be sophisticated, but they have mouths to feed. Sophistication is the keyword. Full interview: youtube.com/watch?v=vRQDdV7o…

Ofwono Opondo: In the parliamentary caucus of the NRM, to which I belong, the issue of human rights has been persistent during the five months we have been in Parliament. I have spoken to the Chief Whip and to the NRM leaders in Parliament (ministers), and there has not been any efforts to have that discussion in the caucus. And my reading is that they're unwilling to engage because of repudiation. They don't know what will follow if they allow that discussion in an official forum.

The GRU hacked into Jared Kushner's iPhone. Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) then recruited a GRU spy who gave them access to the hacked phone. What MIVD discovered was that Kushner had access to two bank accounts --one Azerbaijani, the other Israeli --where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirati ruler Mohammed bin Zayed deposited money. It sounds like a slightly far-fetched episode of "Slow Horses," but it's real. And it proves just how eye-poppingly corrupt this administration was and continues to be as its "special envoy" decides the fate of tens of millions in Europe in the Middle East. Simply incredible reporting by Matthew Cole, drawn from his new book on Kushner. vanityfair.com/story/jared-k…
