Al-Biqāʿī’s Nazm al-Durar, is a major work of tafsīr which perhaps quotes Bible more than any other Tafsīr. He also wrote Aqwal al-qawimah fi hukm al-naql min al-kutub al-qadimah, الاقوال القويمة في حكم النقل من الكتب القديمة. Wish it gets translated in Urdu or English.

After the Confederacy lost the Civil War, Confederate general William Loring joined the Egyptian army from 1869 to 1878, where he served for 9 years, attained the rank of major general, and helped modernize its military. He even joined in Egypt’s disastrous war against Ethiopia.

Alhamdulillah, today I passed my viva exam with no corrections at the University of Birmingham for my PhD in philosophical theology, namely ‘The Divine in Al-Sanūsī’s Theology’. It was a long and difficult journey, but by the grace of Allah, and with the continuous support of my dear parents, wife, teachers and friends—especially the local community at my mosque—this wouldn’t have been possible, considering I was doing full-time imamat, teaching and managing the maktab. All praise is for Allah.
