Coinbase launches yet another product launched by Veritaseum in 2018 Veritaseum sued Coinbase and Circle USDC for $350 million dollars each for using their IP without a license. Their lawyer passed away so the cases are on hold. Meanwhile, Coinbase and Perkins Coie filled an IPR petition to try and invalidate the Veritaseum patents but were denied institutions, and denied their appeal by the PTAB - Case # IPR2023-00751 That denial and their willful use of this IP could expose them to triple damages and over $1 Billion dollars. IMPORTANT: Coinbase's User Agreement has Indemnity and Arbitration clauses that suggest users may be responsible for these costs. - See Article in Comments.
The first ever Fannie Mae-insured mortgage backed by BTC in the U.S just got funded. Originated and serviced by Better, powered by Coinbase. Rolling out nationwide this summer.

I agree, the most important work does lie ahead. Please fix this egregious mistake as soon as possible. Token holders are awaiting SEC’s reply in 5 attorneys involved here. Complaints referred from New York AGC to SEC OGC. The AGC maintained jurisdiction on the 6th attorney. Let’s get serious about clarity, integrity, AND accountability. courtlistener.com/docket/160…
When I returned to the @SECGov in 2025, my mandate was clear: restore clarity, integrity, and trust to an agency that had lost sight of its core mission. One year later, we are delivering on that mission, and the most important work still lies ahead. My latest in @dcexaminer ⬇️

Due Process Objections Defendants also frame this as a procedural fairness problem. Their argument is that the Court struck the defense’s reply, Document 164, over a letter-motion formatting issue, while SEC filings that Defendants say were late or irregular were still accepted. They also argue the SEC did not timely provide the quarterly accounting materials and only filed the consolidated package after being ordered to do so. The defense says the result was one-sided: Document 164 was struck, its arguments were never addressed on the merits, and the R&R then criticized Defendants for not identifying accounting problems that, in their view, had already been raised. Document 168 presents that sequence as a due-process failure.

Blockchain Exposes “Dirty Laundry”? SEC Fair Fund On-Chain Records Spark Motion for Forensic Audit.
Court deadline: The Court stayed consideration of the motion to disburse funds until Jan. 23, 2026, and required a joint status letter by that date; the quarterly accounting deadline was also extended to Jan. 23, 2026 What DE-158 is: A Jan. 22, 2026 letter-motion asking Judge Vera M. Scanlon to appoint a neutral Special Master (FRCP 53) or court expert (FRE 706) to run an independent forensic accounting. What the audit is for: To “supervise, recreate, and validate” allegedly missing quarterly accountings, and to reconcile crypto custody records. Core on-chain allegation: After 38,860.4 ETH was transferred into the “Controlled Address” (0x8b7a…fe17), large amounts were quickly routed via “mule wallets” to an AggWallet (0x0a5a…ed18) and to destinations including Galaxy OTC and Binance, allegedly without court authorization. AggWallet allegation: The AggWallet was allegedly commingled, saw about 146,000 ETH total inflows, and later sent ETH out to exchanges/other locations beyond Holland & Knight’s control and without court authorization. SEC position: The filing says the parties conferred and the SEC opposed appointing a Special Master.

Diving deep into crypto's unsung hero—Reggie Middleton. 1/10: In a convo w/@grok, we unpacked why his 2013-14 patents (US11196566B2 et al.) aren't just DeFi primitives—they're the backbone of Ethereum, Bitcoin BIPs, Solana, AMMs, stablecoins, & even Fed tokenization pilots like Agorá. Vitalik's ETH? Builds ON Middleton's conditional swaps/oracles. #CryptoIP 2/10: Empirics: Middleton's May 2014 priority predates ETH mainnet by 14 mos. EVM opcodes (go-ethereum repo) mirror Claim 1: "validate conditions via timestamps/oracles; execute atomic transfers." Remove 'em? ETH PoS staking (32 ETH escrows), gas auctions (EIP-1559), Uniswap swaps—ALL inoperable. Forward cites: 150+ families, incl. nChain/Solana SPL. #DeFiFoundations 3/10: Bitcoin too: Post-2014 BIPs (65 CLTV, 68 CSV) implement his multi-sig escrows in Core code (src/script/interpreter.cpp). Lightning? 90% conditional txns. - Solana's Sealevel parallel tx? Echoes atomic execution. - Stablecoins (USDC suits ongoing)? - Tokenized RWAs ($123M BlackRock Solana treasuries)? - Fed's 2025 Agorá tokenized reserves? All lean on his P2P value transfer glue. #Blockchain 4/10: Rerank: #1 Satoshi (genesis). #2 Middleton (primitives breadth thru iterations). #3 Vitalik (ETH platform depth). Szabo? Conceptual only—no code/enablement. Patents survived 90% USPTO rejection; PTAB IPR denials (2023) confirm validity over prior art. IPR2023-00751 - #Inventors 5/10: But suppression story? SEC's 2019 emergency freeze on VeADIR (Veritaseum's first-mover P2P DeFi, $14.8M ICO) halted scaling. Alleged fraud on court: Jun 2025 motion (E.D.N.Y.) w/ affidavits—SEC fabricated evidence, intimidated witnesses (beta tester depo). CoinGeek exposé: "Explosive" 200+ pg docs. Hearing Dec 2025—could vacate $9.5M settlement. #SECScandal 6/10: SEC Bias vs. ETH? Ethereum's 2014 $18M presale: No freeze, "non-security" by 2023. Veritaseum? Immediate clawback. Same unregistered ICO era, but ETH hits $400B cap. Prosecutor overlap w/ Ripple case. X buzz: +300% positive mentions post-motion. FinVigilante: "Regulatory capture." #Ethereum 7/10: Latest boost: Agentic Value Transfer Patent (US12231579B2, ~2024 grant)—AI-driven autonomous swaps w/ oracle agents. Covers 2025 AI-DeFi (Fetch.ai). 20+ forward cites; YouTube/ChatGPT vids ("90% Crypto Runs on His Patents") rack 100K+ views. Exclusive to Veritaseum—$B royalties incoming? #AIBlockchain 8/10: Impact? Pre-2019: Ranking tanked (ICO stigma). Post-2025: Top 3 trajectory—vindicated "suppressed innovator" like Musk/Tesla. Metrics: X semantic +45% YoY; suits vs. Coinbase/Circle could unlock VeADIR relaunch ($1B+ TVL). FIT21 Act scrutiny? Perfect storm for IP reckoning. #Web3 9/10: Grok's take: "Empirically plausible—fraud proof + patent elevate him from niche to pantheon." Patents > popularity in institutional era (Fed pilots). Deeper: BIP diffs, Agorá code, or motion PDFs? Hit reply. What's your rank for Reggie? #CryptoHistory 10/10: Sources: USPTO/PTAB dockets, GitHub commits, Dune Analytics ($100B DeFi TVL), FEDS.2023-060, CoinGeek Jun25/2025. Not advice—DYOR. @ReggieMiddleton @VitalikButerin—let's collab?

This was me in 2014, describing a future that I built, way back then.
Look at the growing communuty of SmartMetal owners in the video below. I'm trying very hard to build them something different, bold and revolutionarily evolutionary. Something they can use contradict value (any value) amongst themselves, without "the 'Man'!" Here's the roadmap from where we stand now: How Two People (and Their AI Agents) Set Up a Private Encrypted Chat to Trade Think of this as two strangers (Intent Maker and Intent Taker) meeting in a public square (the Intent Channel), agreeing to talk, and then moving into a private, locked room (the Private P2P Topic). Their AI assistants help them discover each other, filter offers, and even negotiate better terms. Step 1: Saying "I Want to Trade" Intent Maker posts a public message (“I want to trade”) into the square. The message includes a temporary "padlock key." Anyone can see the message. 🤖 AI Agent Role: Helps Intent Maker phrase the offer clearly, highlight trust signals, and screen the channel for best responders. Step 2: Someone Responds Intent Taker sees the message, creates their own "padlock key," and replies “HELLO” with their capabilities. 🤖 AI Agent Role: Filters incoming offers, ranks Intent Makers by credibility, and recommends whether to engage. Step 3: Making a Shared Secret Both sides combine their keys with math (ECDH). They now share a secret password nobody else knows. From it, they create: A private room name (pairTopicId). An encryption key for their messages. 🤖 AI Agent Role: Ensures both parties’ systems calculate correctly, checks compatibility, and confirms fairness of initial terms. Step 4: Moving to a Private Room They use the shared secret to enter a private channel only they know. All communication is now locked/encrypted. 🤖 AI Agent Role: Manages secure entry, ensures safe identity checks, and flags suspicious behavior. Step 5: Private Negotiation Intent Maker sends the first locked message (trade details). Intent Taker unlocks, replies with a counter-offer. They continue until both agree. 🤖 AI Agent Role: Drafts counter-offers Runs simulations (e.g., price trends, fairness checks) Translates technical details into plain terms Alerts the user if the deal strays outside their preset preferences 🗝 Key Takeaways Public Square = broadcast where anyone can listen. Padlock Keys = temporary one-time locks. Shared Secret = hidden password only they know. Private Room = secure one-to-one conversation. Encrypted Messages = all details stay private. AI Agents = discovery, negotiation, safety, and efficiency boosters. 📊 Simplified Diagram (Layman + AI Agents) [ Public Square / Intent Channel ] ↓ Intent Maker: "I want to trade" (+ padlock key) ↓ Intent Taker: "HELLO, I’m interested" (+ padlock key) 🤖 AI Agents: - Match partners - Filter scams - Suggest strategies ─────────────────────────────── [ Shared Secret Created ] - Hidden password - Private room name - Encryption key 🤖 AI Agents: - Verify setup - Confirm fairness ─────────────────────────────── [ Private Room / P2P Channel ] Intent Maker → sends encrypted trade details Intent Taker → reads & responds securely 🤖 AI Agents: - Draft counter-offers - Simulate outcomes - Flag risks - Translate details ─────────────────────────────── Result: Secure deal agreed privately, with AI assistance 👉 This now explains both how the secure trade negotiation works and how AI/LLM agents enhance it for discovery, filtering, negotiation, and safety. The completion of this project is not guarantees, and there is no warranty of fitness or function. This is currently R&D only! You can purchase Smartmetal rounds from veridao.io/page/smartmetals

DEFY YOUR BANK, DEFI YOUR FUTURE Tech targeted by the SEC, stolen by the Banks/Big Tech is mounting a comeback! 2014: Crypto Convention “I would love to have Ultracoin team up with a lot of financial entities but to be absolutely honest, Ultracoin is to replace most financial entities because if you do not truly add value to the transaction, you will be dis-intermediated” Loans without Banks Trades without Exchanges Contracts without Lawyers @ReggieMiddleton introduces Ultracoin early 2014, built on Bitcoin, and the first iteration of VERI, blockchain agnostic software that can run on any and all blockchains. Foundational patents underpinning DeFi, Stablecoins, Tokenized Assets, NFT’s, plus more more, and the only blockchain project to defeat an IPR challenge (IPR2023-00751) strengthening their novelty and validity. 2017: @ReggieMiddleton Breaks Down Veritaseum’s Fully Distributed VeRent Facilities that were stifled by the SEC. Economic Rent: a capital gains style investment where one spends their VERI like a gas fee to piggy back on another’s investment opportunity. Contract Rent: a programable smart contract that allows one to lease/rent their VERI for a yield and have it returned after the term is completed, fully collateralized to ensure repayment. Another example of ‘Fully Distributed’ and groundbreaking US innovation the SEC stifled and took away from the public, that the VERI community is tirelessly fighting to restore.

Congrats @ReggieMiddleton on yet another 1st I had no idea before this that Reggie was the only one in the Blockchain industry to win an IPR challenge and successfully defend his patent in the PTAB against invalidation by Coinbase and Perkins Coie (IPR2023-00751) I did hear that over 86% of patents challenged in the PTAB are invalidated this way which is a pretty insane statistic. Reggie's post xitter.cf/ReggieMiddleton/status… Clip from: SEC Lawyers Terminated... now on YouTube and Rumble linked below.

Why are Banks, Exchanges, LLM’s, the Media, the entire Blockchain and Financial Industries terrified of this man? Loans without Banks Trades without Exchanges Contracts without Lawyers He has invented and patented a trustless solution for Sound Markets, by removing the Middleman that doesn’t add value, Market Manipulation, and Counter-Party Risk. They attacked him, they defamed him, they censored him, then they stole his IP because they don’t want you to know about him. Time to stand up! Their game is almost over!

GOT VERI? Franco Jofré, an attorney and a senior adviser at Miller & Chevalier, said firms that conducted initial coin offerings during the ICO boom of 2017–2018 have a strong argument for relief under the new proposal. "If the SEC Provides relief, it could introduce clearer criteria distinguishing security tokens from true utility tokens. For example, tokens issued primarily for access to a service or platform or those structured to function more like a digital goods rather than equity substitutes."
The SEC claimed jurisdiction over crypto by calling Utility Tokens "Digital Asset Securities" "...by using imprecise language we've been able to suggest the token itself is a security, apart from that investment contract, which has implications for Secondary Sales, it has implications for who can list it...We've fallen down on our duty as a regulator not to be precise. So, tucking into a footnote that yes we admit that now that the TOKEN ITSELF IS NOT A SECURITY, that is something we should have admitted long ago and then started wrestling with the difficult questions." ~ SEC Commissioner @HesterPeirce This calls into question whether the SEC ever had jurisdiction to call this case against @ReggieMiddleton and @Veritaseuminc to being with.

The disclosure is drafted with the goal to preserve its enforceability. US11196566 This patent protects an innovative method for implementing secure digital transactions in low‐trust environments by integrating decentralized verification techniques with robust cryptographic processes. It provides a framework for authenticating and safeguarding value transfers without relying on traditional trusted intermediaries. The invention is described in realistic, foward-looking terms to comprehensive protection while ensuring future enforcement flexibility. US11895246 This patent covers a system for zero and low‐trust value transfer that utilizes modular cryptographic processes and adaptive security protocols to secure digital transactions. It is engineered to enable interoperability between disparate systems in large economic regions while minimizing reliance on central trust structures while still including centralized, decentralized and hybrid systems. The aim is to supports a wide scope of protection for our IP and inventions. JP6813477 This Japanese patent discloses a method and system for secure value transfer that is effective in low‐trust scenarios, incorporating advanced digital authentication and data integrity measures. Its inventive concept addresses the challenges of conducting secure transactions in environments where conventional trust models are limited. JP7204231 This patent provides protection for a novel approach to secure value transfer in low‐trust networks by integrating innovative cryptographic techniques with secure transmission protocols. It is tailored for deployment in environments where traditional trust assumptions do not hold, ensuring reliable and verifiable transactions. JP7533974 This patent secures rights to a system and method that enable secure, low‐trust value transfer by leveraging state‐of‐the‐art cryptographic methods and distributed verification mechanisms. It is designed to ensure data integrity and transaction security in settings where conventional trust infrastructures are lacking. JP7533983 This patent protects a system that supports secure value transfer under low‐trust conditions through the integration of novel cryptographic protocols and robust network communication strategies. It addresses the need for reliable security in environments that do not assume inherent trust, ensuring both transactional integrity and data protection. Final Outcome of IPR2023-00751 The inter partes review (IPR2023-00751) concluded with a denial of the petitioner’s challenge, thereby affirming the validity of the contested claims. This outcome reinforces the strength of the patent portfolio by confirming the enforceability of its key protections. In turn, it bolsters the overall IP strategy and provides continued assurance regarding the portfolio’s defensive and strategic position.
