Spending time with his cats before Halloween festivities begin.
"Hi, Oreo."
Small head scratches as he sighed softly.
"Oh, it knows we're hunting it, I'm sure it can sense who and what we are."
Her eyes narrow slightly as she studies the dark treeline.
'Da.. I feel it too.'
She tilts her head, listening beneath the howl of the wind, her hair whipping around her face.
'Question is.. watching us because we are prey, or because knows we are hunting it?'
A faint, humorless smile touches her lips.
'Either way.. I think we have its attention.'

Went to visit Red.
Was going to say hello, spend some time with Marshmallow, give favorite kitty proper attention.
Very normal visit.
Walked in.
There is green ghost eating chili like he has not been fed since 1984.
Chili is everywhere.
Cats are everywhere.
Red is giving ghost look that could frighten actual demons.
But he cannot do anything about it.
Why?
Because tiny kitten has fallen asleep in his enormous stone hand.
And Red, who has punched demons through walls, absolutely refuses to move hand and wake baby.
So he just sits there. Holding kitten. Silently judging ghost.
I quietly sat down, picked up Marshmallow, and watched.
Best entertainment I have had all week.
And I have been hunting actual monsters.
I think I will bring popcorn next time.
And perhaps more napkins.
