With all the discussion about whether Anakin was truly evil, I think his slaughter of the Separatist leaders in Matthew Stover’s Revenge of the Sith novelisation says a lot lmao Anakin is practically enjoying himself. He smiles and even cracks jokes as he slaughters them all. Some genuinely funny quips too. Shu Mai: “We were promised a reward, a h-h-handsome reward– Darth Vader: I am your reward; you don't find me handsome?” And another "Lord Sidious promised us peace"- “His transmission was garbled. He promised you would be left in pieces." I think people sometimes overlook just how much Anakin enjoyed the power that came with becoming Vader.
