Small beginnings, lifelong impact.
Today, we officially opened the Gitega #ECD Center in Nyawera Sector, @KayonzaDistrict, marking another step toward nurturing children in safe, supportive, and empowering environments.
We also planted fruit trees to promote nutrition and contribute to a future where every child grows mentally, physically, and free from malnutrition.
Because every #child deserves a strong start in life.

A look at how community-based initiatives are contributing to Rwanda’s future, with the support of youth-led initiatives.
The Gitega ECD established by @HelpingHeartFam continues to show impact in supporting children’s growth, learning, care and development. The center provides children with a safe and supportive environment where they can learn, grow and develop, contributing to stronger families and communities.
Yesterday, HHFR conducted a Positive Parenting Capacity-Building Session with parents at the HHFR Gitega ECD Center in Mwiri Sector, @KayonzaDistrict .
The session aimed to strengthen parents’ knowledge of positive parenting, promote children’s healthy growth and development, and build stronger collaboration between parents and HHFR to make our ECD Center a better place for every child to learn, grow, and thrive.
We believe that when parents and the community work together, children have a brighter future.
Together, we are building a strong foundation for our children and contributing to the development of our nation.

Sometimes, helping a child means helping the family first.
Behind many of the challenges children face is a family carrying unresolved conflict, pain and misunderstanding.
Through Ubutabera Butangirira mu Muryango, @HelpingHeartFam brings parents together for peaceful dialogue and mediation helping families listen, understand and find solutions peacefully.
When conflict remains unresolved, children can carry the pain into their education, relationships, behaviour and future.
But when parents choose dialogue, understanding and peace, children gain a safer environment to grow, learn and dream.
We believe every child deserves to grow in a home where love is stronger than conflict.

Yesterday at Helping Heart Family Rwanda – Gitega ECD Center, located in Mwiri Sector, @KayonzaDistrict , we shared a beautiful moment with our children. We played, shared smiles, and enjoyed a meal together.
We are proud to see the children growing healthier and the progress made in reducing stunting. Most importantly, children of teen mothers now have a safe place to learn, play, and grow while their mothers return to school.
Together, we are creating brighter futures for children and their mothers.

For some, 63% may look like just a number. But for Mushimiyemana, it represents a journey from the street back to school, from uncertainty to hope, and from vulnerability to a brighter future. 1/4

We then enrolled Mushimiyemana at EP Urunana in Tumba, where she returned to P4, the level at which she had stopped her education before going to the street.
And she did not disappoint.
📚 She successfully completed P4.
📚 She progressed to P5.
📚 She continued working hard.
🎓 And today, she has completed her Primary National Examination with 63.00%.
She is now continuing her secondary education at École Regina Pacis Tumba. 3/4
Mushimiyemana's story is the heart of our #TumurereYizeProgram.
The program is not only about providing school materials or paying school-related costs. It is about giving children a second chance.
It is about telling a child:
“Your past does not define your future.”
Today, we look at Mushimiyemana and see a girl who has grown, not only academically but also personally. She has become a confident and beautiful young girl who once promised us that she would become a good girl, a role model, and finish her education.
Today, she is keeping that promise. ❤️
🙏 We thank God for His work in Mushimiyemana's life and for allowing Helping Heart Family Rwanda to be an instrument through which this journey could happen.

Today is a very special and emotional day for Helping Heart Family Rwanda (HHFR). We are celebrating and congratulating our beloved girl, UMURERWA Clemence, for an outstanding performance in the S6 National Examination, where she achieved an incredible 85.80%! 👏🏾
But what makes today even more special is that Clemence is no longer only a child we once supported. Today, she is becoming part of the change. 1/4

In 2023, Clemence passed her national examination with excellent results and was selected to continue her studies at another school (TTC Save).
But there was a problem: she did not have the financial means to continue her education.
She came to our office and told us that she had passed her examination but had no support to attend the school where she had been selected.
We advised her to return to her previous school, where we had the capacity to support her.
But Clemence stood firm.
She told our Executive Director:
“I cannot go back there. I passed my examination. I want to become a teacher. What I prayed for is what I received.” 🙏🏾
Her courage and determination touched us deeply.
After she left, we sat together and made an important decision:
HHFR decided to give Clemence full support so that she could continue her education and pursue her dream.
She promised us she would work hard and achieve good marks. 3/4
Today, she has kept her promise! 85.80%! 🎓🔥
And the most beautiful part?
The girl we supported is now helping and encouraging other children under the TUMURERE YIZE Program in @HuyeDistrict .
2022: We heard her dream.
2023: We chose to believe in her.
2026: She achieved 85.80%.
Today: She is helping others believe in their dreams. ❤️
Clemence, we are proud of you! Your story reminds us that when we give a child an opportunity, we can change a life and when that child succeeds, they can change the lives of others.
🙏🏾 We thank God for His mercy.
