Donald Trump is the authoritarian socialist president that Republicans used to warn about.
If Republicans win the House of Representatives and the Senate in the 2026 Midterm Elections, I’m going to give all adult citizens in the United States of America, $5,000! Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to signing those checks!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This repeats a promise Trump made in September 2026. The US has approximately 250 million adult citizens so the total cost would be over 1.25 trillion dollars. Congress must approve any such federal spending.

An oldie but a goodie. Everything you want the KIDS Act and associated bills to do can already be done on the consumer market for parent moderation tools.

The KIDS Act assumes parents can't do their job. Not to mention...families aren't uniform in their values, priorities, concerns, or risk tolerances. Better tools for parents are better than the government dictating....and they are already on the market.

The U.S. House of Representatives tonight passed a War Powers Resolution attempting to limit the military powers of President Donald J. Trump and end the Iran War. Four Republicans - Reps. Thomas Massie, Tom Barrett, Warren Davidson, and Brian Fitzpatrick - joined all House Democrats to push the measure to a vote, with 215 voting for and 208 voting against, with the resolution to now go before a high contested vote in the Senate.

Only Congress can declare war. Only Congress can spend money.
Only Congress can permanently remove a President from office.
Only Congress can remove a Supreme Court justice.
We are not living in normal times.
Trust me bro, I teach American history for a living.

No one is ready for the real solution to Gerrymandering:
A return to the Constitution's original standard of 1 Member of Congress for every 30,000 Americans, resulting in an 11,000-member House with city-council sized districts so small you can't Gerrymander them if you tried.
