I would love to comfortably call myself a Christian Nationalist… if not for all the Christian Nationalists. A nation ideologically ordered around God’s moral standards is beautiful in principle. But man cannot impose salvation on others, and man cannot strong-arm God into acting. The only way a nation becomes Christian is if hearts change. That means preaching the Gospel and God regenerating people. Laws then flow alongside that to bolster the people. We should still pursue better laws — outlawing abortion, cracking down on fraud, restraining evil. But the moment we start treating those laws as the means of conversion, we’ve lost the plot. That’s the same trap Christendom-by-force has always fallen into throughout history.

Ole Miss fan, here, and this makes me sad. Glad we don't have to play him, tho. @KamarioTaylor 🫔

I'm a moderate conservative. If the GOP can't disavow this clown, then what have they become? The Dems have gone far left and the GOP should be sweeping elections, but if elections aren't close then voters will see the real issues, not the polarizing ones that keep us fighting.
Here is a small sampling of the most overt racism from Bo French, who was just hosted by Lakepointe Church. Related: Supporting racism is among the things that can get churches booted from the Southern Baptist Convention, of which Lakepointe is a member.

This argument is rooted in pure Christian Supremacy for the goal of Christian ease and comfort. It has ZERO grounding in Scripture. Scripture leans far more in the other direction: that suffering and hardship produces Christian character and deepens Christian influence.

If you call yourself a Christian and vote for Democrats, as long as you believe Christ is your Lord and that He has saved you through grace, you are still a Christian.

Does anyone really believe @elonmusk donated $190M to @KenPaxtonTX bc Elon supports conservative values? He's not a good guy. He's a greedy billionaire. Our system is so flawed.

I don’t agree 100% with JT. But this is fire.
There is something deeply wrong with a political system that allows one trillionaire to buy his own personal U.S. Senator.

I’m at a point where I’m 50/50 on whether the far left Dems sent this out or the Republicans did it as a scare tactic. Internet sleuths need to get to the bottom of it. Both sides are insane and desperate. Also, no, I do not support this ideology.
This came in the mail today. It’s addressed to my kids and has resources for them to be emancipated and go out of state to have surgery. I’m going to vote tomorrow…

I'm only posting rage bait stuff from now on. Only my wildest takes. There's no place for common sense on social media anymore. Here's the first one: Both parties are Satanic. Blind support for either party is Christian heresy.
There is no reason men under 40 should vote Democrat. None.

I'm a conservative. I believe in tradition. I believe in institutions. I believe it's easier to destroy than to create. The GOP is in a sad state now, but it's worth fighting for, it must be fought for. America needs a liberty loving right of center party. – at Stanford, CA

This. If you only vote for one party, ever, especially between the two disastrous options we've been handed, you're not a free thinker. You're a sheep.
Done. I voted to end the maga corruption that has put the GOP in a choke hold for the last ten years. Party loyalty is a lie boomers tell you so they can continue being trash politicians that represent Trump over the will of the people. It’s time for maga to end and be replaced by a better form of fiscal conservatism that’s actually American first. I voted for conservative judges, Democrat reps, and libertarians. I voted for @VikkiGoodwinTX over @DanPatrick especially and @jamestalarico over @KenPaxtonTX because of the hemp issue. You chose to ban my business. I choose to vote for your opponents. The same old same old dies today. Republicans have had control and all we’ve gotten is worse than under Biden. I’m fine with this crap.

I think Democrats generally have worse policies and Republicans generally have better ones. Enough voters agreed with that to give Republicans the House in 2022 and the presidency in 2024. But every voter those better policies attract is being offset by the ones we’re losing because of what is, in my view, the most brazenly corrupt administration of my lifetime … and a Republican Congress that refuses to check it. People ask why I keep focusing on corruption. It’s because we’re literally going BACKWARDS on the very standards that made the policy gains possible. That’s why this matters. It is not ā€œshilling for Democratsā€ to call this out.

The comments are better than any response I could formulate. There should be fines for politicians and news outlets who purposely run stories based on zero evidence. ā€œWe are hearing thatā€¦ā€ isn’t enough cover.
Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico's viral hospital rumor has been debunked by time-stamped security footage reviewed by The New York Times — but the bigger story may be why his campaign sat on the evidence while the conspiracy theory exploded across social media for days. Talarico disappeared from the campaign trail for nine days in early October, fueling rampant speculation that he had secretly traveled to an Ohio behavioral health center. His campaign maintained he was home with the flu, and security camera images from his Austin home now back that up. But GOP strategists and journalists are torching the campaign's response as "mind-numbing malpractice" for not releasing the footage sooner. With Election Day just weeks away in one of the biggest Senate races in the country, the question has shifted from where Talarico was to why his team let the narrative spiral unchecked when they had the receipts the entire time. My first platform point would be to apply this to both sides of the aisle. The Rs deserve it no less than the Ds. Give me 8 years to get 90% of the corruption out of federal politics and lets get back to business.
ā€œNightmare scenarioā€: Speaker Mike Johnson warns what will happen if Democrats take control of Congress: ā€œIf this group took over, heaven forbid, they would turn every committee of Congress into an investigative body. They’d spend every day investigating the president, the first family, the Cabinet, donors to the party.ā€
