“You can’t always get what you want,” I said. He turned to face me. My heart exploded. “But if you try sometimes,” he sang. His face lit up and I joined him in a duet: “you get what you need!”
People around us applauded and Mick took my hand and we did a theatrical bow. I’ll never forget that moment.
