At least they’re in boxes and definitely look drier than our HR storage room.
Federal employee retirements are processed using paper, by hand, in an old limestone mine in Pennsylvania. 700+ mine workers operate 230 feet underground to process ~10,000 applications per month, which are stored in manila envelopes and cardboard boxes. The retirement process takes multiple months.
There’s a pool for number of last minute resignations before the start of the semester. Is that normal? #HigherEd
“Have a nice break” : You do know the institution is open & you required the offices to be “staffed”.
During that “break”- adjuncts are still looking for their fall checks. Oh, and there are winter classes.
Which can only mean “break” is a break from seeing you.

Hope @apple iOS 16 will have Jyutping as Cantonese input or edit their site.
@JyutpingApp and @Google Gboard Jyutping input has been pretty good for Cantonese learner.

The shared printer is great when network are connected and staple. AA has to have plan B, C, and D in place.

Some Friday afternoon years ago I was told by a department chair, they’re close on Fridays and don’t bother calling the department.
