After 21 years @FanDuel_Racing (formerly #TVG), today will mark my last day on the network. As a horse trainer for 14 years with literally zero “on-air” experience, I could’ve never imagined my broadcasting career would evolve and remain into 2026! For that, I am humbled and forever grateful. 🙏 Thank you to the powers-that-be who took a chance on me, with a Salute to those individuals behind the scenes, the producers, directors, camera operators, master control, etc. who went above and beyond to make it all work seamlessly.☝️ I am most appreciative of the horseplayer, the horse owner and breeder, and even the casual viewer. The best part of my “job” was getting to know so many of you both on and off the air, with some on a more personal level. Needless to say, it was interactive television at its finest! And, knowing that my mom was watching, made being on TV all the more special. 🫡 To my colleagues, former and present, I will cherish the countless memories spent together both in and out of studio, thank you for your support and friendship. Sending blessings for each of you to land on your feet.💙 Here’s to the future of horse racing; until next time, I hope to see you in the Winners’ Circle, Godspeed. 🎤

100% commish @RepoleStable. Horse racing is a 365/7, seems the establishment has lost itself in the process with a lack of trust in the horsemen. Horses come first and foremost, but when the intention of the attending veterinarian is to find a problem, inevitably they will. 👎 @hisa_us
I’ve spoken to trainers and owners preparing for this week’s @BreedersCup, and the overwhelming theme is FRUSTRATION. Between excessive veterinary scrutiny, PET scans and scratches, what should be one of the most exciting weeks in racing has become stressful, frustrating and downright unenjoyable. I’m 100% for Thoroughbred safety, but I’m also 100% FOR THOROUGHBRED RACING!!!!! At some point, enough is enough. I’m not a veterinarian or trainer, but I listen to those who have spent 20-30 years caring for horses. One concern I keep hearing is whether restrictions on therapeutic medications and treatments are actually doing more harm than good. Could a horse with a manageable condition end up compensating and injuring something else because appropriate treatment was restricted??? ARE WE PROTECTING HORSES OR PROTECTING REGULATIONS??? Are some medication withdrawal periods unnecessarily long??? Could shortening certain periods allow better treatment without compromising safety??? And LASIX continues to make ZERO sense to me. We allow it in claiming and allowance races but prohibit it for two-year-olds and stakes horses??? Does Lasix suddenly become dangerous because the purse is bigger??? If it’s harmful, ban it everywhere. If it’s beneficial, why not allow it consistently??? OUR GOAL SHOULD BE HEALTHIER HORSES, NOT SIMPLY FEWER MEDICATIONS!!!!! And of course, let’s not forget the @jockeyclub. They helped draft the legislation behind HISA, and somehow the same familiar faces keep appearing throughout The Jockey Club, Keeneland and Breeders’ Cup leadership. Everett Dobson chairs The Jockey Club, is a Keeneland trustee and a Breeders’ Cup member. Bill Lear helped draft the legislation and is also a Keeneland trustee. DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS. SAME INNER CIRCLE. Amazing how much influence a small group of clowns can have over an entire industry, yet somehow accountability always seems harder to find. HISA spends approximately $80 million annually. We should demand safer racing, fewer fatalities and catching cheaters. But shouldn’t we also question whether some of these regulations are making things WORSE??? We’re already dealing with a declining foal crop, shrinking fields, frustrated horseplayers and owners wondering why they’re spending millions to participate in a sport that’s becoming less enjoyable every year. HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE DO WE NEED TO DRIVE AWAY BEFORE SOMEONE REALIZES WE HAVE A PROBLEM??? WE MUST PROTECT OUR HORSES, BUT WE ALSO NEED TO PROTECT AND GROW THE FUTURE OF THOROUGHBRED RACING. THOSE TWO OBJECTIVES SHOULD NEVER BE IN CONFLICT!!!!! Am I missing something here, or has common sense become the latest scratch??? What do you guys think???

🚨 IF CALIFORNIA RACING COLLAPSES, THE SHOCKWAVES COULD CRIPPLE AMERICAN THOROUGHBRED RACING!🚨 With the Breeders’ Cup approaching, national racing leadership needs a serious reality check. CALIFORNIA IS AMERICA’S #1 ECONOMY. KENTUCKY RANKS 29TH. • California GDP: $4.3 TRILLION • Kentucky GDP: $313.6 BILLION • California’s economy is nearly 14 TIMES LARGER! Now consider California racing: • $2.75 BILLION in FY 2024–25 racing handle. • $892 MILLION in out-of-state wagering. • $546.8 MILLION wagered at Del Mar’s 2026 summer meet. • $708.1 MILLION wagered at Santa Anita’s 2025–26 winter–spring meet. DOES ANYONE SERIOUSLY BELIEVE AMERICAN RACING CAN AFFORD TO LOSE CALIFORNIA? Several Southern California trainers are reportedly moving strings of horses to Oaklawn Park. That should set off alarm bells! Fewer horses mean smaller fields, weaker wagering opportunities and increasing pressure on purses. Owners leave, breeders lose customers and the cycle accelerates. THEN THE DAMAGE SPREADS NATIONALLY! Kentucky stallion farms lose business. Keeneland, Fasig-Tipton and OBS risk losing California buyers. National wagering pools weaken. Even the Kentucky Derby and Breeders’ Cup could feel the consequences. MY PREDICTION: IF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA RACING COLLAPSES, THE ENTIRE NATIONAL INDUSTRY COULD FACE A FINANCIAL CRISIS! California has helped finance American racing for generations. WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR HANDOUTS. WE HELPED BUILD THIS INDUSTRY! Earlier this month, Dianne and I submitted a proposal to Thoroughbred Owners of California (TOC) to attract 500 new broodmares annually with $15,000 incentives per mare, a $7.5 MILLION annual investment. We proposed funding support from The Jockey Club and Breeders’ Cup, organizations reportedly holding approximately $140 MILLION in combined financial resources. THE MONEY IS THERE. THE SOLUTIONS ARE BEING OFFERED. WHERE IS THE ACTION? Let’s be clear: Kentucky’s hardworking horsemen and breeders, along with the dedicated employees of The Jockey Club and Breeders’ Cup, are part of the 99%. Our criticism is directed at the interconnected governing boards and their priorities. WE ARE NO LONGER IN WARNING MODE. WE ARE IN URGENCY MODE! Kentucky’s success depends on a healthy national racing industry. IF CALIFORNIA FALLS, KENTUCKY WON’T ESCAPE THE CONSEQUENCES! THE 99% ARE DEMANDING ACTION. WHERE IS THE NATIONAL PLAN? REFORM IS COMING! Repost and speak out. @BreedersCup @jockeyclub

🚨 It’s @BreedersCup week @keenelandracing. No better time nor place than to address the root of the problem, asking the hard questions.👇 @westlakeracing @RepoleStable
🚨KENTUCKY’S RACING EMPIRE WON’T SURVIVE IF THE REST OF AMERICAN RACING COLLAPSES. WAKE UP BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!🚨 Keeneland’s Fall Meet handle just PLUNGED $31.7 MILLION, DOWN 14.6%! And the people running some of racing’s most powerful organizations still seem to believe everything is just fine. HOW MUCH LONGER WILL THE 99% TOLERATE THIS ARROGANCE AND INACTION? Let’s be absolutely clear. Kentucky’s hardworking horsemen, breeders, trainers and farm workers are NOT the problem. Neither are the dedicated employees of The Jockey Club and Breeders’ Cup. THEY ARE THE 99%. THEY DESERVE BETTER, TOO! The problem is the interconnected web of leadership occupying board seats across racing’s most influential organizations. THE SAME FACES. THE SAME INNER CIRCLE. THE SAME FAILED APPROACH. THE SAME CONFLICT OF INTEREST. The Jockey Club and Breeders’ Cup reportedly hold approximately $140 MILLION in combined financial resources while racing jurisdictions fight for survival, breeding declines, owners face escalating costs and aftercare organizations struggle for funding. And everyday horseplayers? They’re left questioning why CAW operations continue enjoying advantages that ordinary bettors cannot match. WHAT EXACTLY ARE THESE ORGANIZATIONS WAITING FOR? THE NEXT RACETRACK TO CLOSE? THE NEXT BREEDING STATE TO COLLAPSE? For decades, Kentucky has benefited from the rest of America’s owners, breeders, horseplayers and racing fans. We’ve bought your horses. Bred to your stallions. Filled your wagering pools. Supported your biggest events. WE HELPED BUILD YOUR SUCCESS. DON’T MISTAKE OUR SUPPORT FOR AN OBLIGATION TO REMAIN SILENT! And now, while other jurisdictions struggle, national leadership continues accumulating resources and offering explanations instead of meaningful solutions. IS THIS LEADERSHIP OR SIMPLY AN EXCLUSIVE CLUB PROTECTING ITS OWN INTERESTS? Keeneland’s handle decline doesn’t establish why bettors wagered less. But it should terrify anyone who assumes the public will support this sport indefinitely regardless of how it’s managed. HERE’S WHAT THE PEOPLE IN THOSE BOARDROOMS NEED TO UNDERSTAND: Kentucky doesn’t own American Thoroughbred racing. READ THAT @jockeyclub and @BreedersCup ! Its prosperity depends on a healthy national network of owners, breeders, racing jurisdictions and bettors. DESTROY THAT FOUNDATION THROUGH NEGLECT, AND EVENTUALLY THE ENTIRE STRUCTURE CRUMBLES, INCLUDING KENTUCKY! The 99% have spent months demanding transparency, accountability and a serious national strategy. Instead, we keep getting silence, excuses and the same interconnected leadership. YOU HAVE THE MONEY. YOU HAVE THE INFLUENCE. YOU HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY. So where is the action? The 99% aren’t asking Kentucky to fail. WE’RE WARNING THE PEOPLE IN POWER THAT THEIR REFUSAL TO ADDRESS THE NATIONAL INDUSTRY’S PROBLEMS PUTS KENTUCKY’S OWN FUTURE AT RISK! WITHOUT A HEALTHY NATIONAL RACING INDUSTRY, KENTUCKY’S EMPIRE WILL EVENTUALLY FALL WITH IT. The warning signs are EVERYWHERE. THE 99% SEE THEM. DO THE BOARDROOMS? REFORM IS COMING! Repost and speak out.

He said to him, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with your mind.” 🙏🏼 Matthew 22:37 God created humanity out of love, and all the rest of creation for the benefit of human beings. In return, God asks that we remain faithful to his will by loving one another as He loved us. Wishing you and yours a blessed Sunday, my friends. 💙 #30thSundayinOrdinarytime

Super Corredora was last seasons champion 2-yo filly. After she blew the start and had a multitude of things go wrong in a dismal performance as the favorite in a Grade 3, her Equibase Rating plummeted to a 53. She was eligible for Ratings Races at Mountaineer (60 or less)
For long term thinking, I'd keep an open mind about writing it like this: 'for horses which have maintained a rating of 65 or less over their last 2' ...and I'm not saying anything is wrong about this specific situation. But it'll save you from pitfalls if this really catches on.

Hey @chancemoquett, with all due respect, the @Equibase “Ratings Handicap” speed figures need to be properly calibrated before we continue to write races cheating the horsemen and wagering public. For reference, this race is 10/30 @LaurelPark R4. Make it make sense! 🤔🧵
