🤔 Remember the #WEScandal? Sophie Grégoire Trudeau's ambassador role was unpaid, but her flights, hotels and car service were covered.
Then in a spectacular boneheaded display, the Liberal government of the day, led by her (at that time) husband Justin Trudeau, subsequently signed an agreement worth up to $543.5 million with WE's foundation before it was cancelled amid the massive public backlash and controversy.
"Volunteer" didn't make the family connections irrelevant then, and it sure as hell doesn't now.
Yet… Diana Carney's "volunteer" appointment as Ocean Envoy by a minister in her Prime Minister husband's government, followed thirteen days later by her PM husband @MarkJCarney announcing $1.2 billion for ocean protection, gets fiercely defended by those same Liberals, all pointing to Diana Fox Carney's salary information NOBODY asked for! Somewhere CBC pundits are brainstorming how to convincingly blame Pierre for the whole mess.
Now, who remembers Anaida Poilievre's parliamentary career, which began before her marriage to Pierre, and attracted an onslaught of Liberals online voicing insinuations of favouritism, cronyism and nepotism during the last election campaign. Every "ism" in the cupboard that Liberal supporters could find was hurled at her.
But somehow, and this is borrowing logic from the 'Liberalverse', Diana gets appointed, and suddenly the liberal peanut gallery vocabulary shrinks to "volunteer," with nary an "ism" in sight.
Sweet mother of leftist insanity...🤦🏼♀️ The question is how the Prime Minister's wife got the appointment, not whether she gets a paycheque. You'd have to work quite hard to misunderstand something that simple, and yet here they are, finally putting in the effort and representing with the craziest of them.
So... it's a different prime minister, and a different wife, just serving up the same deluded expectation that Canadians are too stupid to notice and too easily impressed by style without substance to insist on integrity.

Unbelievable. I’ve struggled financially as a single mom, spending every penny of my left over income, and sometimes savings, to afford daycare/after school care. And yet @Dave_Eby, with his premier salary and doctor wife, is getting it for $10/day.
This makes my blood boil.
Just now, David Eby confirms that he has his kids in $10/day taxpayer-subsidized daycare.
Approx. only 10% of BC daycare spots offer $10/day daycare. Most families who want in can't get a spot.
As Premier, Eby earns $227k/year. Eby's wife is a doctor. Their household income is likely well over half a million dollars per year.
We don't resent British Columbians who are successful (we want more people to succeed).
But where there are wait lists, surely a wealthy family like Eby's shouldn't be taking advantage of $10/day daycare. Think about a working single mother? David Eby deserves the spot more than her?

Trudeau told a Canadian veteran who lost a leg in Afghanistan that they were asking for more than Ottawa could give.
That was 2018. They were still in court with the people who served this country.
Last week Carney found $40.1 million, on the spot, for a new fund for Ukrainian veterans.
This announcement did not put a dollar on the Canadian side of that counter. Our department still has backlogs, clawback letters, and a homeless-veterans pot that got raided when the paperwork did not line up.
The FIRST obligation is the people who already bled in OUR uniform!
They told our veterans the money was not there. Then they found it when the cameras were pointed at a different flag.
