🇺🇬 The 2026 #UgandaRugby XVs Champions
A victory wall from elite club games to schoolboy breakthroughs in a single narrative tapestry
What the graphic cannot fully carry is the texture behind the results. The emotional weight of one-point finals, the tactical battles that never show up in scorelines, the emergence of standout individuals who shifted matches without ever being named, and the administrative and financial pressures that shaped participation, especially in women’s rugby and relegation disputes.
🇰🇪 The 2025/2026 #RugbyKE XVs season in wrap.
@RfcKabras bagged 5x consecutive #KenyaCup trophies and 6x straight #EnterpriseCup2026 titles. They’re also 55 straight matches unbeaten, including 2 against #UgandaRugby Clubs
On the women’s side, @MwambaRFC have won the Women’s Kenya Cup 5x seasons in a row. Their exact unbeaten tally is unclear, but it spans over 2 seasons
@masese_derrick safe to say: Kenyan Rugby is not competitive 🤣

We need to thank Namibia
The expanded multi-nation #VictoriaCup2026 planned for Zimbabwe in October never materialised. But Namibia stepped up, delivering a valuable Test for the Sables.
The tournament aimed to give Sables as many meaningful games as possible ahead of the #RWC2027. While the wider vision collapsed, Namibia’s cooperation helped preserve part of its purpose.
Thank you, Namibia, for showing up.

Good find 👏 This aligns with the Feb AGM commitment where @RugbyAfrique and the core Victoria Cup nations 🇺🇬🇰🇪🇳🇦🇿🇲 agreed to support the Sables with games hosted in Zimbabwe.
If it’s scheduled for October, the lack of official communication from the unions is still disappointing and creates unnecessary doubt. Kenya (and others) can prepare regardless
🌍 11 Days to the #RAW7s2026…
It’s the very last SVNS 3 qualifiers
The highest-ranked team (excluding 🇿🇦) of the Rugby Africa Women’s 7s in Nairobi qualifies for HSBC DIV 3
The top 2 men’s & top 2 women’s teams from SVNS 3 will be promoted to SVNS 2

🇺🇬🇦🇪 #UgandaRugby’s SVNS 3 hosting hopes dashed as Dubai takes the 2026/27 event
WR & HSBC SVNS have confirmed that HSBC SVNS 3 will be staged in Dubai (27–28 November). This ends any realistic chance Uganda had of hosting the third-tier global event this cycle.
For 🇺🇬, the focus now shifts fully back to qualification. The men’s side missed out after the final loss to 🇿🇼. The Lady Cranes still have their Africa Women’s 7s (SVNS 3 qualifier) coming up in 🇰🇪 Nairobi (7–8 November).
🇺🇬 The #UgandaRugby Buffs sent their Senior 4 candidates off in style this evening.
Since all the big heavy core #UCE2026 papers are mostly done & behind the candidates, a farewell 7s game was organized and Foreign Buffaloes RFC ran out 44-25 winners against the Class of 2026.
The match had a funny tackle evasion style you can’t miss 🤣🤣

As the dust settles and we begin to appreciate the magnitude of what took place on Saturday, what a moment it was for ZIM rugby! 🇿🇼🏉
Kudos to Paddy and the team for thinking big and taking on the NSS challenge. The boys played their hearts out and left everything on the field.
This is how all rugby games end 😂 and @Joseph_Maaniii doesn’t like it.
But look at the number of missed conversions 🙌
🌍 WR rankings update - 26 Oct 2026
📌 Men’s biggest movers (Africa focus)
🇱🇸 Lesotho climbed one place to 88th after a 15-13 win over Eswatini in the opening match of the BOLESWA Tri-Nations Rugby Cup on Saturday. It was Likotola’s first Test win on foreign soil in 7 years
🇸🇿 Eswatini dropped two places to 99th as a direct result of that narrow home defeat.
The BOLESWA tournament continues this week (🇱🇸 vs 🇧🇼 on Wednesday, 🇸🇿 vs 🇧🇼 on Saturday), so further movement is possible.
🇳🇦 Namibia slipped one spot to 27th after a near miss 36-33 loss to Zimbabwe. The Welwitschias pushed the Sables all the way in a five-tries-apiece thriller but fell just short. Zimbabwe continue their recent dominance in the rivalry.
📌 Women’s side
🇿🇦 South Africa moved up one place to 9th - a new record high for the Springbok Women.
They lost 27-40 loss to Ireland on Saturday but Scotland Women had lost 38–31 to Australia in Friday. This was enough for the Springbok Women to overtake Scotland
🇿🇼🇳🇦🇰🇪 | Jerome Paarwater is not the first coach to lead more than one African men’s national XVs team.
The South African coach has had 2 stints with Kenya’s Simbas (2013–2017 + 2023–2025) before taking charge of Namibia in 2026. Other notable examples include:
Allister Coetzee: Springboks (2016–2018) + Namibia (2021–2024)
Peter de Villiers: Springboks (2008–2011) + Zimbabwe (2018–2019)

🇳🇦x🇿🇼 Namibia’s travelling squad for Saturday’s Test against Zimbabwe in Harare, under former 🇰🇪 #RugbyKE coach Jerome Paarwater.
Among the notable absentees are Louis van der Westhuizen, Tiaan Swanepoel and Aranos Coetzee, all unavailable due to club commitments with the 🇿🇦 Cheetahs.
This looks like a transitional squad, retaining a useful core of 2025 experience while leaving out much of the high-profile overseas contingent in favour of available locally based and developmental players under the new coaching setup.
🇺🇬 Junior Cranes | Send-Off for #Dakar2026
This is #UgandaRugby’s first appearance in Olympic rugby. The boys will compete in Pool B against 🇦🇷, 🇫🇷 & 🇯🇵 at Complexe Iba Mar Diop from 1–3 Nov. The challenge is steep, but the squad arrives with fresh confidence after claiming back to back gold in the U18 boys’ category at the Safari 7s in Nairobi.
Head coach Peter Ochol will lead a compact group that includes Victor Ampiire, Bonamy Asiimwe Bwambale, Trey Rugamba Gateja, Jeremiah Iragaba, Sanyu Katushabe, Moses Kibeti, Deogracious Muliira, Almadi Otema, James Tyron Ssebuufu, Shafik Okole and Abdulrahman Ongima.

🇺🇬🌍 #UgandaRugby has won the hosting rights for a World Rugby HSBC SVNS Division III circuit leg in January 🤩🥳
According to the State Minister for Sports, Hon. Peter Ogwang, Uganda will host 24 countries at the global circuit
📌 But first: Uganda will host the SVNS 3 Africa Qualifiers on 26–27 Sept 2026
The road to January starts on 7 weeks
He literally said he’d wear the Springboks jersey because he couldn’t find his Sables one.
Some Zimbabweans want his head on a plate. 🇿🇼🇿🇦 The rivalry is REAL.
Meanwhile, in #UgandaRugby, we had a head coach wear a Springboks jersey while on national duty, and life went on normally. 😂
🇲🇦 The Moroccan Royal Rugby Federation held its 2025–2026 Ordinary General Assembly
All items on the General Assembly's agenda were approved unanimously - Such as new programmes, funding commitments & competition reforms.
Like elsewhere in rugby, the biggest challenge affecting clubs was identified as financial, second to that was the level of coordination among rugby stakeholders.
🇲🇦 The Royal Moroccan Rugby Federation (FRMR) announces its upcoming Ordinary General Assembly scheduled for Sunday, 25 Oct 2026
The meeting is intended to review the federation’s activities during the 2025–2026 sporting season, assess its achievements and challenges, and discuss the future development of Moroccan rugby.
The federation’s last AGM was on 1 November 2025.
Congratulations on the win 🤝
