Originally, the final nominee was going to be Dejounte Murray after the footage of him begging his girlfriend (a rapper’s BM) to come home and stop partying. That alone was enough to punch his ticket.
But then… the wild developments with Sherrone Thomas happened, and now we can’t just ignore it.
So we’re putting it to YOU. Who deserves that final SOTY nominee slot to make it an even 10? Dejounte Murray or Sherrone Thomas? Once this is decided, nominations are closed and official voting begins immediately.
5 Reasons Materialistic Women Think Coffee Dates Are Low Effort
1. Coffee does not come with a receipt big enough to brag about.
They cannot flex a caramel frappuccino on Instagram the same way they can flex a two hundred dollar steak dinner. No viral moment and no public validation.
2. It does not require a man to financially overextend himself.
A coffee date only costs a few dollars which means he is not proving anything with his wallet. They want you to audition for the boyfriend role with your money.
. There is no luxury aesthetic for them to perform in.
No dim lights. No wine glass selfies. No fancy plate shots. Just two cups a table and real conversation which exposes people who do not have a personality.
4. They cannot treat it like an audition for future lifestyle benefits.
A simple coffee meetup does not let them test whether you are willing to spend spoil and support the lifestyle they want. It does not pass their benefits checklist.
5. A coffee meet up gives them no leverage.
If the man is not spending big money they cannot guilt trip pressure or control the narrative. A coffee table puts both people on equal footing and they dislike that type of equality.
Still hard to believe it’s been all these years. Merlin Santana was one of those rare talents who brought style, humor, and heart to every role he touched. From The Cosby Show to The Steve Harvey Show, he had that energy that made you stop and watch, the kind of presence that couldn’t be taught. Losing him was more than just the loss of an actor, it was the loss of a young brother whose light was just beginning to shine its brightest. Rest in power Merlin.
