Today, I received the delegation of the Progressive Governors' Forum (PGF) led by the Chairman, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, on a solidarity visit to our state over the recent disasters that claimed many lives.
Today, I also paid a condolence visit to the people of Essa, Katcha local government area over the tanker explosion that claimed many lives and left several others injured.
We acknowledged that the roads are bad and we are making efforts to get the fixed. But, it is a terrible thing that a truck will fall, and the people of the community will carry containers to scoop instead of making efforts to rescue the driver and other passengers of the truck.
I attended the Matriculation of the 809 students of Abdulkadir Kure University Minna (AKUM) for the 2024/2025 academic session, where I declared a tuition free education for the students and N100,000 bursary support.
It is not wrong for a leader to make a statement and retract the statement. We had a vision to take some students to foreign land on scholarship, but today, I have cancelled that decision. I would rather invest the money budgeted for the foreign scholarship here in AKUM.
I celebrate and extend my heartfelt felicitation to the First Lady of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, CON, as she turns 65.
Her Excellency's commitment and determination to ensure the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, administration is commendable.
Yesterday, I presided over the State Executive Council meeting at the Council Chamber of Government House, Minna, where the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development presented the document bid to host the 24th edition of the National Sports Festival in Niger state.
Today, I presided over the State Exceutive Council meeting and received the delegation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, led by the President, Dr. Haruna Nma Yahaya.
I participated in a two-day Regional Meeting of the Progressive Governors' Forum held in Benin City, Edo State, where we deliberated on our party APC affairs, the state of the national economy, and security challenges.
I also joined other colleague Governors to pay homage to the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, at his palace.
I joined His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the launching of over 2,000 tractors and inspection of the renewed hope agricultural mechanization implements.
The multi-billion dollar equipment, delivered under the Nigeria-Belarus partnership, represents the largest agricultural mechanization initiative in the country's history.
Deputy Prime Minister, Republic of Belarus, Victor Karankevich commended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the partnership highlighting its importance in food security and agriculture prosperity.
I attended the 28th St Petersburg International Economic Forum held in Russia, where an agreement was reached with Sberbank to boost Niger State plan to implement a number of projects aimed at increasing effectiveness of agriculture and enhance the quality of life and creating new points of economic growth.
In the partnership agreement where I signed on behalf of the State government, and the Senior Vice President of Sberbank, Timut Kozintsev, signed on behalf of the financial institution, it is expected to bring about development of joint projects in healthcare, agriculture, mining, cyber security and digital education including the design of roadmaps, creation of working groups, and the launching of pilot projects with the prospect of scaling them up.
