Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor woman’s final radio calls. That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching. I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraft’s maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee. Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.

Nothing like an aviation tragedy to show who the most unqualified are to comment. Real trash human beings.

🇺🇸 A look at what dating apps and algorithmic delusion have done to the dating scene. There are now only 2 types of guys out there, and one of them is made up of guys who can't even be bothered to leave their couches for a date. 😂 Writer: Mhedi

Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified. The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far. Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete. As an immediate precaution, Binance has: - temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed; - revoked the affected address authorisation; - engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds. Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice. Please rely only on official Binance channels for updates. Please feel free to contact Binance Customer Support if you have any further questions. binance.com/en/support/annou…

🚨 IT'S OFFICIAL: Salim Said, owner of Minneapolis "Safari Restaurant," has been sentenced to 30 YEARS in federal prison and ordered to pay $44 million in restitution Good, now make sure people like TIM WALZ, AG Ellison and Ilhan are investigated for what they knew! His crew claimed to serve thousands of meals a day to hungry kids. Instead the money went to a million-dollar home in Plymouth, a Park Avenue mansion in Minneapolis, property in Ohio, and luxury cars 😠 His lawyer argued that no child actually went hungry. The judge wasn't buying it: "You took the reputation of our state down with you." He also has a PRIOR fraud conviction. 32 defendants have been sentenced so far, and the median sentence is just 38.5 months.

A 20-year study of a million children found that kids conceived by IVF frozen embryo transfer had double the cancer rate. 84% of US IVF transfers now use frozen embryos. Danish researchers followed every child born in Denmark from 1996 to 2012 for up to 20 years. The study was published in JAMA last week. Children conceived without assisted reproduction developed cancer at 18.3 per 100,000 per year. After frozen embryo transfer, the rate was 41.1. After ICSI, where a single sperm is injected directly into the egg, it was 27.9. After frozen transfer, leukemia ran more than twice as high. The only method that showed no increase was a fresh embryo, never frozen, created by placing eggs and sperm together in a dish. That version is now the exception. In 2021, 84% of US IVF transfers used frozen embryos and 78% used ICSI, according to the CDC. Compared with children of women with a history of infertility who conceived without treatment, the frozen embryo risk stayed at more than double. In the authors' words, the results suggest "procedure-related, rather than infertility-related, factors." This is not the first time the pattern has shown up. A 2019 JAMA study of the same Danish children at 11 years found it too. A 2022 study of 2.3 million children in Taiwan found those conceived through assisted reproduction had 58% higher cancer risk, "mainly owing to leukemia and hepatic tumor." The absolute risk is small, and most of these children will never get cancer. The Danish children were conceived with older freezing methods, and the authors warn the results "may differ for contemporary protocols." Nobody yet has long-term data on IVF as it is done today. Children conceived with today's methods won't have 20 years of data until the 2040s, so today's IVF children are, in effect, the trial. Parents deserve to hear these numbers before they sign the consent form, because their child is the one who will carry the risk. doi.org/10.1001/jama.2026.18…

I don't understand why people care what this kid has to say.
Antonio Sabato Jr. opened up about dating Pamela Anderson in their prime. Antonio Sabato Jr: “She’s amazing, she’s one of the sweetest people. We kept it very private, but she was very beautiful.” Clavicular: “Do you think she was better looking than you at the time, or you were better looking than her?” Antonio Sabato Jr: “Oh, she was definitely. She was the biggest star in the world.” Clavicular: “I would say you guys were quite similar looks level. In my opinion, that’s what a relationship should look like. But that’s not something you see anymore. Today, someone’s girlfriend is less likely to be as good looking as them.”

People usually say that the pill caused the sexual revolution but a) people started having premarital sex in the 1950s, a decade before the pill and b) contraception is widely used by people who don't live very post-sexual-revolution lives (like in Asia). I think the sexual revolution, i.e. more permissive attitudes about sex, caused the pill to be invented and not the other way round. But then, why did the sexual revolution happen? I have cooked up a theory. Just as how women have more casual sex on college campuses with fewer men, I think women, as a collective, responded to the male shortage caused by the Second World War by shortening their hemlines and having premarital sex. The Sex Recession Has An Ideological Tilt: Liberals Seem Most Affected Most by the Digital Age Since the 1990s: ✔️ Weekly sex among liberal wives has dropped from 64% to 50% ✔️Among conservative wives: 66% to 61% Husbands are down across the board: liberals 67% → 50%, conservatives 65% → 53%. That gap isn’t statistically significant. New @famstudies 👇🏽

Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks. By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time. Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

The worst thing about youth sports is how seriously some parents take it.
NEW: Florida police release a statement after a family claims that police were called on their 3-year-old son because he was "too good" at soccer. Video footage shows a 3-year-old soccer prodigy dominating a group of 5-year-olds in Winter Park, Florida. "They called the police on a three-year-old because he's too good... because he had the ball for too long and nobody else can get the ball so they called the police on him," the family claimed in the video. The Winter Park Police Department has since released a statement saying they were called about a "disturbance" between league officials and the player's parents. "The Winter Park Police Department was contacted by a soccer league official who requested response to a disturbance between league officials and the parents of a player," they said. "The league requested the family leave and offered to refund the league cost to family. Shortly after arrival, the officers were requested by the league official to communicate with the family as he did not want to further a disturbance." "The family stated the game was over and they were leaving. The family was cooperative with the officers and were provided with an event number for the incident at their request." "The incident was a civil matter between those parties and not criminal. No one was arrested, trespassed, or forced to leave the park. The Officers body worn cameras confirm the above information."

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar writes in her memoir, “I was eight years old when civil war broke out in Somalia. One day everything was okay, and the next, there were bullets piercing not only buildings but also people.” While Somalia has suffered several civil wars, the chapter is entitled, “War: 1989-1991, Mogadishu, Somalia.” Mogadishu experienced severe riots in July 1989, including a mass execution that became known as the “Jazeera beach massacre.” If, in her own words in her own autobiography, Omar was eight when this occurred in 1989, then she was born in 1981, and was 19 years old in the year 2000, when her father purportedly obtained his citizenship, not 1982 as she currently claims.

If you look at Publishers Weekly, female headshots are predominant and it isn't even close. I'm glad women have made major strides in publishing, but we need stories told by men as well.
“Today, the Big Five publishers are staffed almost entirely by women. According to the most recent data, more than 70 percent of staffers are women. More than 70 percent of editors are women. Even 70 percent of all interns are women. At the executive level, more than 60 percent of leaders are women. In 2026, American publishing looks like lululemon.”
