store.steampowered.com/app/2… ette kuullut multa sitten, mutta meidän seuraavan pelin kauppapaikka meni juuri julkiseksi. #gamedev #dev #indiedev
This should've happened years ago. I started with GameMaker but moved to Unity because exporting to web and mobile was expensive. Glad it's finally free! Maybe I'll use GameMaker for a game jam someday.
MASSIVE news for the GameMaker game engine...
Starting January 1, 2027 GameMaker can be used completely free for commercial game development on Desktop, Mobile and Web using the new GMRT.

This version is very close to current one. So we moved to real-time combat. I think there were one or two version but I can't find any videos of them. I think I've spammed enough vidoes for now. I don't want to annoy people with any more old stuff. #indiedev #FalseHope
This was more polished versio of that power meter version. I think this was somewhat okay. I would have needed few more iterations. I'm also happy that we removed that annoying screent effect from the sides.

This was called Power Meter Fastlane Combat. I think we tried to move the player's eyes to the enemy instead of watching those inputs at the bottom of the screen. I think that rotate effect is pretty okay but as combat system? Dump idea. #indiedev #FalseHope
This is something that I didn't remember at all. It seems we call it Fastlane Combat. BTW that name is still in use current combat script. Can't remove it anymore. Annoying. This was also pretty horrible idea. This came about a month after the last version. #indiedev #FalseHope
This is the next iteration of combat. I don't know what we(I) were thinking with this. I still think this is pretty horrible. You have to try things to find out what works and what doesn't. The funny thing is those same animation etc are still in the project. #IndieDev #FalseHope
This is pretty much the first combat system. I think it still has something to it. Maybe I should come back to it with another project. It is actually pretty creepy at somehow. #indiedev #FalseHope
It seems I was trying to do a hit stop effect at some point during development. There was a bug. This is one reason why I love to record videos when I'm working on features, even if they have bugs. #indiedev #FalseHope
Okay, I found an older video, and the file is named "Anime Attack." I still think this bug looks pretty decent. Maybe I should try to make this a mechanic. #IndieDev #FalseHope
I found an old combat comparison video, and honestly, I barely remember this version. I think our current system is better. We've gone through 5–7 different combat systems and probably around 14 variations. Designing it has been quite a painful journey. #indiedev #FalseHope
I was going through some old videos from development and found one of my favorite clips. Scooter makes everything better. I'd actually love to include something like this in the game someday. In the meantime, go check out the False Hope demo on Steam #SteamNextFest #indiedev
Resident Evil. Silent Hill. MacGyver? False Hope takes inspiration from all three. A locked door is a real problem. Figuring out how to open it is only half the puzzle . You still have to pull it off. #SteamNextFest #SurvivalHorror
Hey! Sami from our publisher @fennonauts promised to sing Alphaville's "Big in Japan" at karaoke if we get enough wishlists from Japan! We're only 6 wishlists away! Help make it happen during Steam Next Fest!
