India's To Be or Not to Be Aircraft Carrier

Joined August 2022
Carrier critics: Aircraft Carriers (which move) are "sitting ducks" in today's ISR saturated, precision strike environment Also carrier critics: Shore-based air (which operates from static airfields) is the solution. youtube.com/watch?v=bAnhSkHR…

Please don't undermine SCO. Just bcos you are not an Emraan Hashmi-Kalki Koechlin-Abhay Deol fan.
And only for SCO, but not for SAARC. 🤷‍♀️

When brass spouts BS wrt PRC, some Desi skepticism. "Realism" in the house. When brass spouts BS wrt Pak, lapped up, amplified and cheered by Desi masses. Bcos blood-feud. True Vishwaguru stuff
Who is even convinced by this. Regardless of payload restrictions (which are mitigated by in air refueling), no amount of plateau restrictions suddenly nullify the AWACs and EW advantage the PLAAF possesses. What's the use of making such statements?

Haarerz is left leaning and takes on the Bibi bozos. But it is not celebrating a Bibi defeat. So just like before we could see dragged out coalition building and Bibi cling on to power somehow. The Arab parties consolidation is a natural byproduct of Bibi being Bibi

Stupid, glib take.
The only country in which an Arab can vote in an entirely free election is... Israel

Even before that, the creation of CDS/DMA by executive fiat was a major error. But 56-inch will be kicked out, now only a question of when. So does the INC-led opposition have the competence for actual reforms? If course not. Do Desi Liberal elites? Nope. So...
In 2019, Modi had given three years for creating theatre commands. Once the deadline elapsed, he should have take charge and driven the process politically. Because he didn’t, the services know it is not his political priority. An airshow in Varanasi or a photo-op with jawans is.

Was always going to be a cliffhanger. Bibi advantage inflated early doors. But certainly not a reverse for him.
As we watch from the Jpost newsroom, Likud has dipped slightly as the results trickle in. Earlier in the night, the exit polls by major Israeli broadcasters showed Likud ahead, but Netanyahu's bloc trailing Eisenkot's in most of the predictions. We'll keep you updated as numbers come in.

Also, if we can stop with the bogus deflections and actually want to learn, the US "joint" effort got into doctrine-Airland and even an MoU-31 Initiatives between the Army and USAF. We all know IAF culture, so just like in the US let the Fauj be the bigger one.
Replying to @arunp2810
Goldwater Nichols sought to pushback against service chiefs overstepping their roles, and reinforce the role of the COCOM boss and CJCS. Since the bogey of blindly copying the US is raised, let's get Malik and Tipnis on the same stage to candidly speak about jointness in Kargil

A reminder that ASEAN's ADMM Plus, the Plus includes India USA but also PRC and Russia. See, we can all be friends...
Defence Minister @rajnathsingh will hold a bilateral meeting with US Secretary of War @SecWar Pete Hegseth in Cebu (Philippines) at around 9.30 AM IST He will also meet several other counterparts during the day. @USAmbIndia @USAndIndia

BREAKING: Israeli elections have ended and the exit polls are in. All three Israeli channels have Netanyahu's bloc at 50. Eisenkot's bloc is at 52 or 53. The Arab parties are at 17 or 18, the most seats they have ever won. Likud finished first with 24 or 25. Yashar is second with 21 to 23. Bennett has 12 to 14. Nobody has 61. Netanyahu cannot form a government without Bennett, and Eisenkot cannot form one without either Bennett or the Arab parties. Israel had the highest turnout in its history today, and the country is still split down the middle.

Little chance of a war in the SCS. Could PRC do a Johnson South redux vs PH? Possible US NatSec guilty of making Taiwan a cause celebre and not meeting its MDT obligations wrt PH. Contesting PRC in the SCS requires political cohesion among FOIP chanting nations. No sign of it.
If war begins between China and US and its Pacific allies, it will start in the South China Sea and near the Philippines, not Taiwan. Events are reaching a breaking point in the South China Sea between China and the Philippines and it’s only a matter of time before either there is a major incident at sea or China openly takes some islands off the Philippines by force.

RAF Fairford update from @TerrorismPolice: This morning two men have been charged under the National Security Act, following an extensive investigation into activity which took place near RAF Fairford on Sunday 27 September. Head of National Counter Terrorism Policing in the UK, Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor, said: “Earlier this morning, Nouman Essghir, 24, a British national from the Borough of Westminster, London, was charged under Section 4 of the National Security Act 2023, for suspected activity on Saturday 22 August. He was first arrested at the scene in Gloucestershire on Sunday 27 September, and re-arrested on 20 October. “Essghir will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court this morning. “A second man, a 25-year-old dual UK/Iranian national, re-arrested on the same date, has been released without charge. However, he remains on police bail following his first arrest on Thursday 1 October. “Following the re-arrest of these individuals, detectives also interviewed a further man under caution. “As a result, Mohammed Abdul Karim, a 24-year-old British national, from the Borough of Westminster, London, has been charged under Section 3 of the National Security Act 2023, which makes it an offence to assist a foreign intelligence service. “In this case, we believe that country to be Iran. Karim will appear at Westminster Magistrates today. “The five other men arrested in connection with this investigation, remain on police bail. “We have seen a range of incidents in recent months that we believe have been directed by the Iranian state, and as the Director General of Mi5 said just the other week, we are working together to intervene, identify and respond to that threat. “The public can help us with this, and as always, I would urge them to report anything that they’re worried about – those reports can and do make a difference.”

"My dear friend" for the left outside. "Anti-national" and "terrori$t" for the left inside. Waah Modi Ji! Waah!

Everybody and his uncle knew when the initial order for 100 was given that it was inadequate. You can play name games with DAP vs DPP, revise it every other year but not really change the fundamentals. How's that AoN for the P-8Is-allowed to lapse once already-coming along?

Meanwhile in AUKUS news. This is the easy part. The commitment on selling brand new Virginias to RAN has already been cast aside for second hand boats. And the fun will really start when Aus starts to build the UK design at home. A question of when AUKUS will fail not If.
The USS Colorado (SSN 788) has just been announced as the first Virginia-class fast-attack submarine assigned to Submarine Rotational Force-West (SRF-West) beginning in late 2027
