Updated September recap (as of October 13, 2026)
Amidst continued abuses by ICE, @ICEFlightM shines a light on an opaque, cruel system of removal flights occurring without due process, often to places where people are at serious risk. People should never be sent to places where they face grave harm.
(1/5) As of the end of Sept. 2026, the U.S. conducted 700+ removal flights across 9 cities in central & southern Mexico (see below):
(4/5) This sharp rise in removal flights represents a dramatic shift in the mode of deportation, from land border to air.
(5/5) MX govt data shows that the dramatic rise in Mexicans returned by ICE Air is not proportional to the total number of Mexicans returned. See p. 15 of our Sept report for more detail: humanrightsfirst.org/library…
A small (14-seat) Journey jet that departed Mesa, AZ this morning at 8:20 local time is currently en route to Shannon, Ireland, where it will likely refuel before onward deportation stops. We are monitoring for a potential removal stop in Poland.
UPDATE: After a refueling stop in Shannon, Ireland, the small (14-seat) ICE Air jet landed in New Delhi, India at 3:50 pm local time. It did not stop in Poland.
We are actively monitoring for any potential removal flights carrying Afghan nationals, per @BLaw

(1/5) ICE Air has squandered multiple opportunities to facilitate the return of Ahmed Soliman, as ordered by a U.S. immigration judge, initially on Oct 6.
UPDATE (1/2): Based on new info, just 2 nationals of Equatorial Guinea were removed when yesterday’s ICE Air flight (B763) stopped in Malabo. Following stops in Burundi & CAR, the flight returned to Senegal & flew within 30 min of Malabo.

An ICE Air flight (Velux16) is expected to depart Alexandria, LA for Dakar, Senegal at 3:20 pm local time. We are monitoring this flight for potential forced third country removal stops in CAR, Burundi & Equatorial Guinea.
UPDATE: The ICE Air flight (Velux16) has now landed in Bujumbura, Burundi at 11:24 pm local time (5:24 pm ET). This flight marks the 2nd time third country nationals have been removed there from the U.S., following a flight on Aug 27.
