Fewer people are reading than ever before... yet this cultural idea that film and TV adaptations are not ALLOWED to change anything from their source material has never been more widespread. I can't explain. Are people arguing for the supremacy of books they've never read?

Pretty sure Clayface was marketed as a horror movie, Matt.
DCU shills acting like the Clayface box office is a win is hilarious. If it hits $100M or even $130M it shows not a lot of fans showed up. This is a "DC" brand movie not a "horror" movie. $100M is atrocious.

“Everybody keeps recommending his movies, yet I’ve refused to watch any of them. How could he possibly be any good?” Humanity is not gonna make it.
OK, I'll bite. If John Cassavetes is so insanely influential and brilliant, why have I not heard about him until recently? I've been on a side-quest with classic and esoteric movies, mostly through the Criterion collection. I've watched dozens of Criterion closet picks from filmmakers and actors I admire. They pick Cassavetes films ALL THE TIME. Probably more than any other director except Scorsese. I haven't seen a single Cassavetes film. I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about a Cassavetes film outside of those videos. I'm not a slouch on film, I've got a pretty wide spread on what I've seen & what I appreciate. How has Cassavetes slipped through that net so completely for so long?

I knew Eric Bauza a little bit, I'd see him around. Not long after Trump was first elected we were somewhere talking about Trump and he did a perfect Trump impression (this was before everyone did one) and from then on my Trump impression was just Eric's. RIP to a great one.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Walter Koenig’s passing. Although we did not know each other well away from the set, we shared the later seasons of the original Star Trek series and the six films that followed. What I observed, and what so many fans have expressed over the years, was a man who genuinely loved the Star Trek community. At conventions, Walter was rarely content to remain behind a signing table. He preferred to be among the people who had kept Star Trek alive for so many decades. That kind of genuine connection is rare, and it will be remembered by everyone who came into contact with him. My condolences to his family, his friends, and the countless fans whose lives he touched.

When people say things like this I wonder if they realize how deeply unpopular comic books are as a medium. Batman #1 was the second-best selling title of 2025 in copies sold. Half as many people read it in total as saw Clayface opening weekend.
The reason DC Comics still exists in the modern day is because it’s many stories are interconnected. Don’t embrace that, you reject the reason the thing you’re adapting is successful

at this point, we might as well apply the reading/literacy crisis to parents too because how do you not learn anything about the movie’s rating beforehand? *especially* the warnings. the blame’s all on you for bringing in kids that can’t handle any of those topics.
WILDWOOD IS PG-13‼️‼️‼️

Eric, you will be missed, my friend. ❤️ Eric Bauza & I first worked together years ago on the tv series BREADWINNERS, where he & his co-star Robbie Daymond displayed an uncanny comedic chemistry that the animation barely scratched the surface of. In person, they virtually lit up the recording studio--it was amazing to watch. We last worked together, in person, on LOONEY TUNES, he as Bugs Bunny & myself as Pete Puma, both of us insanely enjoying bringing voice to characters that inpsired us as kids. And that's key for all the up & coming voice actors out there: LOVE what you do, be it animation, video games, radio spots, tv commercials, or industrial/educational voiceovers. If you love the work--no matter what it is--you'll have the most amazing career you can imagine. Godspeed, Eric 🙏and my heartfelt condolences to all his friends & family.❤️

It’s one thing to watch someone become a monster, but another to feel everything that person is losing along the way. Tom Rhys Harries gives an astounding performance in Clayface, bringing an emotional weight to the horror in a way that feels incredibly personal. Happy anniversary to Matt Hagen, who debuted in DETECTIVE COMICS #298.

Eric Bauza posted this the day the Skydance merger closed. It seemed to be his subtle way of reminding us that no matter whose name is on the logo, the creative legacy of Warner Bros. will not die. It’s thanks to people like him that it hasn’t.

Obviously meant a lot to me for there to be an Asian Bugs Bunny. Really sad about the news and appreciate Eric Bauza being such a positive force in animation

These people seem to think Kurosawa was making indie arthouse films and not well crafted populist cinema lol. Same thing with spaghetti westerns, our standards for blockbusters have gotten so low people think its impossible for something to have mass appeal and also not look shit
