As we begin our last day of our national conference, one of the biggest highlights of yesterday's program was awarding the Ted Shotter Lifetime recognition Medal to Professor Bobbie Farsides to honour her endeavours and contributions within medical ethics- a truly inspirational and deserving recipient.
Guiding words from her keynote will resonate with many:
Identify your role models and establish/nourish your roots
Be passionate
Stand for something that is true to you
and finally work hard, be brave and above all, be kind

The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill is now very unlikely to complete its Lords stages in time, after the government declined to allocate additional parliamentary time.
Should parliament have prioritised this — or does slowing down protect vulnerable patients?
