Antonio Calderara's exploration of light, space, and perception shines in early works like ‘The Family After the Storm’ (1934) & ‘The Island of San Giulio’ (1935). His use of mist and light foreshadows his later minimalism.

Two massive beasts of burden dominate this study for Umberto Boccioni's Futurist work, 'The City Rises.' In the corner, a half-built structure rises, embodying F.T. Marinetti's metaphor for human progress. Dedicated to anti-Fascist Giuseppe Antonio Borgese. #umbertoboccioni

🚨New Exhibition🚨
Our new exhibition, 'Looking for Dante' is now open!
Come and see our historical editions of Dante's 'Commedia' alongside artist Wuon Gean-Ho's fantastic linocuts, which show a modern re-imagining of the work, inspired by her encounters in the archives.

ALT The poster for our 'Looking for Dante' Exhibition. The background of the poster is white, with black text and a black image. At the top it reads: 'Looking for Dante. Special Collections Exhibition'. At the bottom it reads: 'Voltaire Room. 14 June-11th July 2024. Taylor Institution Library'. In the middle of the poster is a large, oval print of one of Wuon Gean-Ho's linocuts featured in the event. It's a self portrait of the artist, sat in the Taylor Institution Library's Main reading room, looking at a very large copy of Dante's 'Commedia'.
