Yuzuru was 2nd in the ISU World Standings before the 2014 Olympics, just 3 points behind, and before the 2018 Olympics, he was the reigning World Champion and still #1 in the ISU World Standings. Given these facts, claiming he wasn’t a favorite is strange.
