DOJ is fighting hard to prohibit state bars from being able to discipline DOJ attorneys and this is why - they want no accountability

American won’t heal until the lawyers themselves are deterred from joining in on this nonsense. There needs to be professional consequences for Trump Admin lawyers who acted like they work for the mob.
Quite a letter from White House to Politico.

In the event of a fair election and transition of power in 2028 and 2029, we are going to look back on one of the greatest eras of public corruption in the history of this country.

The ole 90% downward revision that actually shows a stagnating economy while Trump and his cronies bilk money from the public and enrich themselves leveraging their proximity and positions to accept bribes from private entities
When first reported, 2025’s jobs reports added up to 1.2 million new jobs. After revisions, the economy added just 116,000 — 90% less.

“Merit.”
"Top officials in the State Department made clear that only candidates who voted for President Donald Trump would be eligible for the mid-to-upper level foreign service roles. They also told candidates that their campaign donation history would be examined and any donation to Democrats would be disqualifying."

The problem is, the Supreme Court seems to be embracing a version of the unitary executive that is explicitly rejected by the Constitution.

it's amazing just how deep the loser bench of this administration goes. just losers all the way down. every idea is a loser. every single choice is a loser. can't do one thing right without fucking it all up, not even move a goddamn globe
They broke Eisenhower’s globe because they didn’t want to wait for a team of specialist historians to move it. I cannot think of a more apt metaphor for Pete Hegseth’s DoD.

Yeah it’s for “not being a dem” instead of his many abuses while a SGE with DOGE and the recent starshield story

Dems are threatening to investigate Elon for essentially not being a Dem if they get power. Much more concerning imho.

We didn’t get hit in the head but we damn sure got hit
America did not dodge a bullet. America was pretty squarely hit by a bullet which tanked global opinion and soft power, strained relationships with allies, delayed economic growth, punched science in the face, tore families apart, exacerbated wars and has fought against the buildout of renewables while simultaneously clawing away more land for oil. One can go on and on for hours. America was hit by the bullet, it just hasn’t died.

They weren't able to form a new faction because their position was so self evidently correct that the imagined opposition just gave up and didn't bother to oppose them publicly. Only insane people actually cop to being an anti-democratic degrowth obstructionist.

Yes. All the laws Trump cites to take these equity stakes existed before Trump. Yet NO PRESIDENT - incl. Biden & Obama - interpreted them as giving the executive branch the power to own shares in private companies. That's partly bc the old GOP would have FREAKED. No longer.
The Trump presidency is an unprecedented victory for socialism. Not only for what it's doing, but because the Republican party can't object on ideological grounds. Paves that road to socialism, w/o good intentions.

Yep. And in 2017. And in the 2000s as well. But it's too late now, you're going to end up paying for it now.
Bloomberg: Ken Griffin Says Republicans Erred in Cutting Taxes Billionaire Ken Griffin said Republicans in Congress and President Donald Trump made a mistake by cutting taxes even further last year Griffin: “We didn’t have the fiscal space to renew the tax cuts. Republicans have their hands dirty over the tax cuts the last two years.” bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

The DOJ is so obviously weaponized that I pretty much do think the Lucas charges are a witch hunt even though i fully believe she is capable of that

The politicization of the career workforce is probably one of the few area that a democratic Congress could actually change. I have heard of checking registration before promotion, hiring, blacklisting DRPers. Unfortunately all secondhand and through the grapevine.

SCOOP: The State Dept has started asking career diplomats up for promotion if they voted for Trump in 16, 20, 24. Federal law prohibits politically based hiring for career staff. State tells @washingtonsun it's screening for "fidelity" and execution of the president's vision👇
