Not often I laugh out loud at a chart, but this one got me.
Pew Research Center bar chart titled "AI polls greatly overstate Hispanic adults' interest in the World Cup." It compares real survey answers with AI "synthetic respondents" on how likely people are to follow the World Cup. Hispanic U.S. adults: 48% not likely, 43% likely, 8% not sure. Synthetic Hispanic respondents: 2% not likely, 97% likely, 0% not sure. Non-Hispanic U.S. adults: 71% not likely, 25% likely, 4% not sure. Synthetic non-Hispanic respondents: 78% not likely, 22% likely, 0% not sure. The AI came close for non-Hispanic adults but hugely exaggerated Hispanic adults' interest, and never answered "not sure." Source: survey of U.S. adults conducted March 23–29, 2026, plus a "digital twins" synthetic analysis using Claude Opus 4.6 set to low reasoning. Timur found normal chess too easy and boring, so he invented his own version: Tamerlane Chess 🇺🇿♟️ Tmerlane Chess played on a massive 10×11 board with two extra citadel squares. Each player commanded an army of 28 pieces, including units like camels, giraffes, elephants, war engines, and princes, all with their own unique movements. The game also had multiple kings, complex promotion systems, and special rules where even pawns could transform into entirely new powerful pieces after advancing far enough. For a man who conquered half of Asia with his brilliant strategic mind, classic chess simply wasn’t hard enough. He turned chess into a far more complex battlefield of strategy.
