Rachael Maskell is suspended for looking after her constituants (that's her job ) You couldn't make it up.
This is @RachaelMaskell close to tears as she describes the devastating impact of cuts on her disabled constituents.
One told her "it would be better if I wasn't here."
She's been suspended by the Labour Party for standing up for her constituents.

Whatever happens—and my god, we will fight on with every breath we have—can we just take a moment to say: we did this. It wasn’t the MPs. We made them listen to us. Every tweet. Every call. Every meeting. Every protest. Every petition. Every march. Every action. That’s amazing.

ALT Here’s the alt text for the image: Screenshot of a news article from The Times. The headline reads: “Starmer gives in to welfare rebels by offering to water down cuts.” A subheading underneath says: “More than 120 Labour MPs have backed an amendment that would effectively kill the bill.” Above the headline is a photo of Keir Starmer speaking at a podium with a microphone. The podium displays the British Chambers of Commerce and Heathrow logos.

DWP response to this petition claims that people out of work are 3x more likely to be in poverty than those in work... failing to mention that this poverty only exists because of *their* policy choices... it will only worsen with more benefit cuts!

Absolutely adored #LifeHacksForALittleAlien by Alice Franklin today. A beautiful work on the power of autistic special interests and a powerful love letter to neurodivergence and libraries.

A prominent Labour MP told me this morning that our activism is one of the reasons Labour are considering U-turning on a couple of benefit policies. Don’t buy the spin from the three Labour Party stooge accounts claiming the media made it all up—pressure is our best friend.
Had a great Christmas sensory story session with our little group of VI kiddos at @toylikeme. The grinch definitely hasn’t stolen Christmas here!
What a joy to work with these children for over a year now 🎄

Tonight’s Documentary is “The Remarkable Life of Ibelin” the story of how gaming transformed the life of a young man with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Fascinating to see the freedom gaming could bring and the computer adaptions to facilitate this. #OT

Hi,
We are NHS Mental Health Services.
We can’t retain staff long enough anymore to have care coordinators anymore.
And there are too many of you.
Thanks.
Bye!
Has anyone else had major issues since Study Tech took over disabled student allowance? I am now 4 months in, no equipment, call handlers are rude and no one will answer emails. The whole thing has been nothing but stress!

I moved into Downing Street and took up my position as Chief Mouser exactly 13 years ago. If I'd known then what I know now, I might have asked to stay at Battersea, but things can only get better..."
One of the quirks of the British benefits system is you can spend months begging DWP to stop overpaying you and still receive a letter saying you deliberately robbed the nation 🤔

Honestly people can’t even have heart attacks like they used to 😤
New normal 🤨 defib’s everywhere you go … I wonder why 🤔
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The 'Defibrillators in Public Places' campaign began in 1999 in the UK. It is normal to see defribilators in public places, it is not "new".
The UK had one of the highest rates of premature deaths from cardiac arrest, the initiative continues to save lives.

NEW REPORT on SIM, 'Criminalising Distress', shows police are still embedded in mental health services, and other coercive, punitive practices continue, despite NHS England’s 2023 directive for them to be ‘eradicated’. #StopSIM medact.org/criminalising-dis…
I mostly use Obsidian for my #OccupationalTherapy #Research masters. It's a great software for notetaking, information storing and linking notes. I wish there were tutorials at universities on this so I didn't have to self teach and that more people knew about it.#AcademicTwitter
The above shows graphview where the software puts a link between related notes. For example all the sources I've read on #ArtsBasedResearch are connected. This is my graph a month into the masters, lets see how big it is by the end!
