What a lovely surprise in my mailbox to prepare to celebrate #NSCW18

A7: I overcome discouragement & overwhelmed feelings by asking myself, "what else would you rather being doing as a career?" And I can't come up with a better answer than school counseling!!! #scchat

A6: I love when students have the opportunity to see what success and personal growth feels like and we get to watch this happen! It's the best!!! #scchat

A4: I believe our job is very much about parent education & support so I have been fortunate enough to work at schools where I was able to create parent programming and bring in experts #scchat

Sorry I mean A3! :)

Q3: There's an article I read over 10 years ago from the ASCA journal on Delivering Difficult News to Parents #scchat I have read this article so many times to help!!!! professionalschoolcounseling…

A2: I remember having a tough time tempering my enthusiasm & trying to sit back when I was eager to take on so much. I joined a team of veteran counselors & some of my job expectations were probably too lofty/unrealistic! #scchat

A1: I am often surprised at how much parents look to us for answers & help, especially in times of great difficulty. We create a safe place for them to show vulnerability. #scchat
