The Office of the Addl. Commissioner of Income-tax (TDS), Range-2, Kolkata, under the guidance of the CIT (TDS), Kolkata, organised a TDS Outreach Programme at the Headquarters of Eastern Railway, Fairlie Place, Kolkata, on Friday, 9 October 2026. The programme was attended by the Deputy Financial Adviser and Chief Accounts Officers (Construction), along with other senior officers of Eastern Railway. The primary objective was to sensitise the Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) of Eastern Railway to the key provisions and significant changes relating to TDS under the newly enacted Income-tax Act, 2025, with particular emphasis on minimising and eliminating TDS defaults in government offices. The programme also focused on raising awareness about the utilisation of unconsumed Book Identification Numbers (BINs) for the reduction of outstanding demands. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation, with over 100 participants, including DDOs from Eastern Railway. As part of the observance, the residents participated in the “Swachhata Pledge”, reaffirming their commitment towards cleanliness, hygiene and a cleaner environment. आयकर विभाग, पश्चिम बंगाल एवं सिक्किम द्वारा आयोजित हिंदी पखवाड़ा–2026 के अंतर्गत पुरस्कार वितरण एवं कवि सम्मेलन का आयोजन दिनांक 01.10.2026 को माननीया प्रधान मुख्य आयकर आयुक्त, पश्चिम बंगाल एवं सिक्किम, श्रीमती सुरभि वर्मा गर्ग,की अध्यक्षता में किया गया। समारोह में अध्यक्ष महोदया सहित विभाग के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी श्रीनिवास बिदरी, मुख्य आयकर आयु्क्त-4, कोलकाता, श्री रविशंकर श्रीवास्तव; मुख्य आयकर आयुक्त-1, कोलकाता;श्रीमती पारमिता विश्वास, मुख्य आयकर आयुक्त-3, कोलकाता तथा श्री शिवराज मोरे, मुख्य आयकर आयुक्त-6 मंचासीन रहे। आयकर आयुक्त (प्रशासन एवं करदाता सेवाएँ) एवं राजभाषा अधिकारी श्री च. दीपक सिंह द्वारा स्वागत संबोधन प्रस्तुत किया गया। उन्होंने अपने संबोधन में कहा कि राजभाषा पखवाड़ा केवल एक निर्धारित अवधि में आयोजित होने वाला कार्यक्रम नहीं, बल्कि हिंदी के प्रति हमारी प्रतिबद्धता को पुनः स्मरण करने, कार्यालयीन कार्यों में हिंदी के प्रयोग को प्रोत्साहित करने तथा भाषा के माध्यम से आपसी संवाद को अधिक सहज एवं प्रभावी बनाने का अवसर है। इस अवसर पर हिंदी पखवाड़ा के दौरान आयोजित विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताओं के विजेताओं को पुरस्कार एवं प्रशस्ति-पत्र प्रदान किए गए। वित्त वर्ष 2025–26 में राजभाषा हिंदी में उत्कृष्ट कार्य के लिए राजभाषा चल शील्ड आयकर महानिदेशक (अन्वेषण), पश्चिम बंगाल एवं सिक्किम के मुख्यालय कार्यालय को प्रदान की गई। समारोह में मंचासीन अधिकारियों द्वारा विभागीय पत्रिका ‘पूर्वांचल’ के 37वें अंक का विमोचन भी किया गया। समारोह का विशेष आकर्षण रहा कवि सम्मेलन, जिसमें श्री जयकुमार “रुसवा”, श्री इरम अंसारी, डॉ. सुनील कुमार शर्मा एवं श्रीमती देविका गुप्ता ने अपनी सशक्त एवं मनमोहक काव्य प्रस्तुतियों से समारोह को साहित्यिक गरिमा प्रदान की। अपने अध्यक्षीय संबोधन में श्रीमती सुरभि वर्मा गर्ग, प्रधान मुख्य आयकर आयुक्त, पश्चिम बंगाल एवं सिक्किम ने कहा कि संविधान ने हिंदी को संघ की राजभाषा के रूप में स्वीकार किया है और राजभाषा हिंदी केवल संवैधानिक दायित्व नहीं, बल्कि जनता और शासन के बीच संवाद को अधिक सहज, सरल एवं प्रभावी बनाने का माध्यम भी है। उन्होंने कार्यालयीन कार्यों में हिंदी के स्वाभाविक एवं अधिकाधिक प्रयोग पर बल देते हुए इसे जनोन्मुखी कार्यप्रणाली का महत्वपूर्ण आधार बताया। राजभाषा के प्रति प्रतिबद्धता, साहित्य के प्रति अनुराग और हिंदी के निरंतर प्रयोग के संकल्प के साथ हिंदी पखवाड़ा–2026 का गरिमापूर्ण समापन किया गया। @nsitharamanoffc @officeofPCM @FinMinIndia @IncomeTaxIndia @PIB_India @PIBKolkata @PIBGangtok

The Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, West Bengal & Sikkim, on 30 September 2026 (Wednesday), organised a “Swachh Paathshala: Yuva for Swachhata” programme at Quazi Para Hazrat Ekdil Shah High School, Barasat, as part of the #SwachhataHiSeva2026 campaign. The programme aimed at engaging, educating and sensitising school students and youth towards cleanliness and responsible waste management through various interactive and awareness-building sessions. As part of the initiative, Shri Asutosh Kumar Sahu, I.R.S., Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Hqrs (Admin & Vig), Kolkata, sensitised the students regarding cleanliness and hygiene. During the programme, essential cleanliness and sanitation items were also handed over to the school to encourage and facilitate the adoption of hygienic practices among the students. On 01.10.2026 (Thursday), the Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, West Bengal & Sikkim organised a “Photography” Exhibition and “Swachhata Se Samriddhi – Kabaad Se Jugaad & Kabaad Se Kala” Exhibition at Oikotaan, Rooftop, Aayakar Bhawan Annexe, P-13, Chowringhee Square, Kolkata – 700069, as part of the #SwachhataHiSeva2026 campaign. The exhibitions will remain open from 01.10.2026 to 06.10.2026. The exhibitions were inaugurated by Smt. Surabhi Varma Garg, I.R.S., Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, West Bengal & Sikkim. A number of senior officers including the PCCIT Madam herself and officials and retired officers of the Department participated in the Photography Exhibition. The Photography Exhibition seeks to celebrate India’s journey towards a Swachh, Green and Viksit Bharat through photographs portraying the beauty of nature, sustainable development, cleanliness, heritage, biodiversity and active citizen participation. The exhibition provides a creative platform to showcase the importance of environmental consciousness and collective responsibility in building a cleaner and greener nation. The “Swachhata Se Samriddhi – Kabaad Se Jugaad & Kabaad Se Kala” Exhibition promotes the principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle by encouraging participants to transform discarded and waste materials (kabaad) into useful and innovative products (jugaad) as well as creative works of art (kala). The exhibition highlights how innovation, creativity and responsible waste management can turn waste into valuable resources while contributing towards the vision of a Swachh Bharat and a Viksit Bharat.
