NEW | 🇬🇾🇺🇸 Guyana's President Irfaan Ali and US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth signed a new defense declaration at the Pentagon on October 21. The agreement, according to the Guyanese government, provides for expanded military training, joint exercises and improved airspace surveillance. For Guyana, which is developing major offshore oil resources while facing Venezuela's territorial claim over Essequibo, better monitoring of its airspace and surrounding territory could be particularly important. Hegseth framed the partnership within Trump's approach to the Monroe Doctrine, emphasizing Washington's intention to counter threats and outside military influence in the Western Hemisphere.

"Trump can bring Putin to the negotiating table very easily. The way President Trump talks about me, he needs to adopt that kind of rhetoric about Putin."
When President Trump says we need to find a compromise – we live with this. A ceasefire and sitting down at the negotiating table – it is a huge compromise. Nobody can step into the shoes of all these people whose children were tortured. And you can't force people to forgive. How can you force them when their child was tortured? How do you forgive? It's impossible. I desperately want justice. I just really want. I know so many people had their hearts ripped out, and there won't be a new heart. That's why we say a ceasefire is the only step, because people’s hatred isn't going anywhere. It takes time and justice. And that's why it's a huge compromise. I've tried many times to tell the President of the United States: understand us. This is a huge compromise just to hold the lines where we are. Trump can bring Putin to the negotiating table very easily. The way President Trump talks about me, he needs to adopt that kind of rhetoric about Putin. BREAKING: German authorities have arrested a suspected Russian spy in Brandenburg. The 53-year-old Ukrainian man, identified as Vadym Y., is accused of collecting militarily sensitive information for the Russian intelligence service since at least July 2025. According to the Federal Prosecutor’s Office, he allegedly targeted contacts within Europe’s arms industry, gathering information on the production of tanks, ammunition and explosives, as well as industry personnel. He is also suspected of monitoring military installations linked to the security of NATO’s eastern flank, including, according to media reports, the German Armed Forces’ Lithuania Brigade. The suspect was arrested in the Oder-Spree district following an investigation involving the BKA and information from Germany’s domestic intelligence service. He is due to appear before an investigating judge at the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe, who will decide whether he will be remanded in custody.

This will only worsen the unrest we have seen across Europe in recent weeks, increasing the risk of further protests spreading across multiple countries. Rising oil prices mean higher fuel, transport and living costs, putting even more pressure on people already struggling to make ends meet.

UPDATE | 🇷🇺🇺🇦🇺🇸 Russia has agreed in principle to resume trilateral peace talks with Ukraine and the United States in November, according to the Kremlin. The announcement follows nearly three hours of talks between Vladimir Putin and US envoy Steve Witkoff in St. Petersburg. Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov says the negotiations could take place in Abu Dhabi around mid-November, focusing on security arrangements for Russia and Ukraine after the war. A US official told Axios that Kyiv accepted the proposal for technical-level talks during Tuesday's meetings in Oslo, with Moscow agreeing today. Moscow says the latest Ukrainian and European proposals still offer little basis for resolving the conflict. Zelensky continues to push for a ceasefire and a meeting between the three leaders.

EXCLUSIVE: In a joint investigation by @InsiderGeo × @SONARROW_OSINT , we identified a large-scale Russian military loading operation in Baltiysk. Between October 15 and 16, we observed the Russian cargo vessels ASCALON (IMO 9198226), LADY D (IMO 9349289) and ANASTASIIA (IMO 9349291) loading significant quantities of military equipment at the Kaliningrad naval base, including logistics vehicles, infantry vehicles, MRAPs and troop transports. A rotation of other cargo vessels also appears to have taken place in the days before and after, although heavy cloud cover over the period makes this difficult to confirm. One or more large convoys are likely already underway. Their destination(s) remain unknown at this time.

All three cargo vessels have previously been linked to Russian military deliveries beyond Russian borders. In our investigation last month, ANASTASIIA was also tracked in Libya, further highlighting the role of these vessels in Russia’s military supply routes abroad. xitter.cf/InsiderGeo/status/2099…
EXCLUSIVE: 🇷🇺🇱🇾 We have obtained higher-resolution imagery providing a closer look at the Russian military convoy inside Tobruk port. The imagery shows ANASTASIIA and YURIY ARSHENEVSKIY alongside the Ropucha-class landing ship ALEKSANDR SHABALIN. A large number of military and logistics vehicles can be seen in the port area, including multiple Ural-type trucks arranged in rows. The imagery provides a much clearer view of the equipment previously identified aboard the convoy and appears to show the vehicles being unloaded and brought ashore at Tobruk. This is part of our ongoing investigation with @SONARROW_OSINT.
