I’m sorry to announce that my plan for the next few weeks, until the inevitable Riven ban, is to terrorize my LGS with her.
I’m gonna say “Heron trigger” more than anything else.
They’re gonna hate me.
My mental is made of steel.

The first Showdown Series (Sacramento and Melbourne) were this weekend, let's have a look at the early meta of the new Set

"STOP MAKING UP RULES, YOU'RE DUMB"
Welp. GG
ANOTHER FUN #RBRadiance Interaction
If you are playing Riven, The Exile, and you control a Battlefield. You can play Baron -READY- to the Baron pit.
You do so by choosing to play Baron to a BF you control.
Then, Baron Nashor enters the newly created Baron Pit ready.
The order of the effects does not change the result. The key is that you originally played Baron Nashor to a battlefield you control.
That is enough for The Exile to make it enter ready.
Baron Nashor then changes where it enters, sending it to Baron Pit instead, but this does not undo the ready effect.
One effect changes where Baron Nashor enters, while the other changes whether it enters ready or exhausted. Because they change different things, applying them in either order gives the same result.
Thank you @civicevic for helping me put words nice and neatly for you all here :D
Yesterday’s Sacramento's top cut commentary from @anzidmtg and @samdsherman was some of the most fun I’ve ever had watching a riftbound stream.
The chemistry, charisma and game knowledge were insane. Please put them on every showdown and RQ possible.
Thanks for the work ❤️
Akali was Tier D before winning an RQ.
Ezreal won one while Draven was “broken.”
Ornn won one during the Kennen “ban this” era.
Heron decks are insanely strong, sure. But maybe try solving the meta before asking Riot to solve it for you.

Yes cause of
811.1.d.3.a. A play effect of a permanent played from facedown references information from its source when determining what battlefield it was played from and what targets are legal. Example: A unit reads in part “When you play me, kill another friendly unit." If it is played from the facedown zone, the play effect must choose a friendly unit at the battlefield the unit was played from. If the unit is no longer on the board when the play effect attempts to finalize, it will not be able to choose a legal target. If the unit is no longer on the board when the play effect attempts to resolve, the play effect will not be able to reference the information of where the unit was played from, and it will mistarget.

This was an unfortunate wording in one example of the Origins CR for spells from facedown which has been removed with Spiritforged and is no longer true, because it causes contradictory instructions and is not how it actually works.

En este caso el efecto de la carta fallaría por la regla siguiente:
> 811.1.d.3.a. A play effect of a permanent played from facedown references information from its source when determining what battlefield it was played from and what targets are legal.
Beware this Hidden ruling:
If you reveal this guy at a BF and he gets Gusted away, he whiffs even if 4+ units remain there.
Hidden doesn’t exactly add “here” to the card but the effect is tied to the BF it was played to from face down.
