RE: SENATOR ROCHAS OKOROCHA’S REMARKS ON PETER OBI’S SINGLE-TERM COVENANT We have reviewed Senator Rochas Okorocha’s comments on Channels Television’s *Politics Today*. We accept his description of Peter Obi as “a fantastic gentleman; clear in his head.” On the claim that a single term is “a four-year gambling,” we respectfully disagree. Section 135(2) of the 1999 Constitution provides that a President shall leave office after four years and may seek a further four years. In law, “may” is permissive, not mandatory. A single term is therefore constitutional. It is not a gamble. Nigeria already tested an eight-year tenure between 2015 and 2023. The result was rising inflation, a weakened naira, soaring public debt, widespread poverty, and insecurity across the country. That is the real balance sheet of prolonged tenure without performance. Peter Obi’s offer is a performance bond, not a gamble. He has pledged to serve one term, to be judged strictly by results, and to hand over power in 2031 in recognition that it is the turn of the North. This is sacrifice for national stability. Leadership is measured by impact, not duration. Nigeria’s problem has never been insufficient time. It has been the repeated failure to use time well. Mr. Obi proposes to reverse that culture: one term dedicated entirely to delivery. When a man entitled to eight years voluntarily chooses four and invites the nation to judge him by results, he is not gambling. He is sacrificing. This is not a gamble. It is a rescue mission with a deadline. Signed, Mallam Ibrahim Hussain Abdulkarim Director-General National Campaign Council Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) #VoteNDC #NigeriaWillBeOK

I decided to join the mission to rescue Nigeria on the 1st of October 2016 after watching Peter Obi give account of his stewardship as Governor of Anambra State on the Platform. I first researched and confirmed his claims, then I packed my bags and returned home to form a political party [the National Interest Party (NIP)], and to then raise an army of credible, honest, competent, and compassionate people to rescue this country. Today, Peter Obi is making that seemingly far fetched dream of mine come true. So, it is a rare honor to be one of those chosen to support him as he navigates the complicated journey. I will do my best not to disappoint him or you all. Peter Obi Is Coming!!! And Nigeria Will Be OK!!! #peterobiforpresident #happy #happinessisfree

Replying to @ZariyiYusufu
Pls show us instances , or posts where Obidients or a random Peter Obi supporter, insulted the Middle Belt, or Southern Kaduna in particular. Please don't use lies to justify your new alliance with APC. I just have a feeling that some of you are not at peace with your conscience

FREE RILWAN OLAWale NOW! It is confirmed that Mr. Rilwan Olawale (@richone090) was taken into custody by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS). The Nigerian authorities must immediately disclose his whereabouts, the reason for his detention, and the legal basis for holding him. @OfficialDSSNG, guarantee his safety, inform his family, and respect his fundamental rights. If there is no lawful basis for his detention, release him immediately. OPPOSING THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT A CRIME! No Nigerian should face intimidation or unlawful detention for expressing dissent or supporting an opposition movement. I call on the DSS and @PoliceNG to act urgently, uphold the rule of law, and ensure Rilwan’s rights are protected. His freedom matters. His safety cannot wait. FREE RILWAN NOW! Rilwan @richone090 is a Yoruba boy arrested by a Yoruba government simply because he campaigned for @PeterObi and the @NigeriaNDCHQ, the leading opposition candidate and party. Where are the cowards, criminals and clowns who called Obidients names and told us to engage peacefully? Where is Akin Tollsnake @akintollgate, Omar Iscariot, Stephen Iscariot @StephenOSEMWEGI, etc? Have they called out the government for arresting a young Nigerian who simply expressed his constitutional rights?

The arrest of this young man by the DSS simply for mobilizing support for Peter Obi is shameful. Peaceful political campaigning is not a crime. Carrying an NDC flag and urging people to support a candidate ahead of 2027 is a constitutional right, not a security threat. When the DSS is deployed against young Nigerians for supporting Peter Obi instead of focusing on real threats like banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism, it sends a clear message: the state is more interested in silencing political opposition than protecting citizens. This is intimidation, not law enforcement. Democracy dies when supporting a candidate becomes grounds for arrest. Release him immediately. Nigerians will not be cowed.
