Do you know what the ANZICS logo represents?
Officially chosen in 1984, the snake symbolizes Asclepiosโthe ancient Greek God of Medicine, the Southern Cross celebrates our bi-national Society, and the canopy symbolizes the lungs while paying tribute to pioneering advances in mechanical ventilation and pulmonary care.

2025 marks the 50th birthday of ANZICS. Over the next 50 days, we will countdown to the 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting and pay homage to the people and events that helped shape our history and contribute to the advancement of intensive care practice.
For many years, ANZICS was the only representative body for practicing intensivists in AUS & NZ.
While there have been challenging times, without the fortitude and resilience of our pioneering members, we would not have the world class standard of intensive care services we have today.
