779 pages and 2.75 inches of proof that German women's philosophizing in the 19th century was powerful, robust, and copious! Congrats to Kristin Gjesdal, @dalia__nassar, and 31 contributing authors on this field-defining book. Thrilling! @OUPPhilosophy @karen_kyng @clintontolley

We want the Maths Dept at unimelb to know people are watching — beyond maths, beyond even unimelb — and that people care about the fixed termers getting sacked and replaced instead of converted to fill ongoing roles.

We spent all last year campaigning like hell to get Unimelb to finally value the insecure workers that make the place work. Top management eventually got the message, but the Maths Dept clearly has not caught up. When is the uni going to stop treating its people like trash?
1/3 Insecure workers and @NTEUUniMelb won the moral argument on job security and made rampant casualisation a liability, forcing management to create hundreds of new secure jobs- meanwhile @UniMelb still taking every opportunity to mistreat and humiliate their insecure staff...

Today I officially got made ongoing @UniMelb, as lecturer in AusPol. I would not have gotten the gig without the long-running campaign by @NTEUUniMelb, fighting for precarious workers. I am so indebted to my comrades. They sacrificed a lot to win jobs like this. But we need more!
