“Come as you are, but don’t stay that way.” All about encouraging folks to show up, that lady would be welcome in my church. She doesn’t know better on day one. She’d know better as time goes on, and behavior, attitude and attire would change.
Woman at church yesterday showed up in a sweatshirt and literal pajama pants. Wore her hood the entire service. I was absolutely appalled. I hate this whole, “came as you are” narrative the Protestant church preaches. Other religions wouldn’t let you in if you dressed so disrespectfully. Why is it only Christian’s that are held to this standard? That we must just accept everything?

Revealing attire is a different discussion, that would require that we ask the person to cover up some. I don’t want folks facing temptations like that. I love my people, my children.

So @AndrewBaileyMO got called up at the annual meeting to talk about amendment 3 and absolutely knocked it out of the park. Great speech, told Baptists to get into the public square and vote. Baptists need more men to be saying this.

I was born and raised in Michigan. I live and pastor in Michigan. I love Michigan and those who call this great state home. We have a hotly contested Senate race right now. I want to share eight reasons why I, as a Christian pastor, cannot vote for Abdul El-Sayed (D-MI) to be the next U.S. Senator for the State of Michigan. Thanks to @BaptistLeaders for publishing. 🔗 centerforbaptistleadership.o…

It’s not Pharisee-ism to decide to not give your church building away to an African church plant. It’s pretty frustrating that that was said at the MO Baptist pastor conference.

In STL for the Missouri Baptist annual meeting. As is my tradition, I met a non Baptist Twitter mutual for dinner last night. Will now be hanging out with hundreds of my fellow Baptists for the next couple of days.

I don’t love conventional ag but there is something genuinely awesome about driving MO 36 in the fall and seeing insane amounts of grain getting harvested.

One important thing that living in a small town has taught me is that most things aren’t worth me burning bridges over. Strong disagreements are fine, but hold off on bridge burning.

You could buy a home off of Twitter and live happily in God’s Country.

I have a beautiful home for sale in SEMO, 15 minutes to two different rivers, 30 to the lake and not a stoplight near us for 45 miles. We are trying to downsize to a single level for my health and would love to sell to a family looking to raise their babies in Gods Country. ☺️

Missouri has broken containment. I can’t keep it a secret anymore, so I might as well be honest. Southern Missouri is way better than northern, more public land, prettier landscapes, lakes etc. If you want to move to Missouri, south of I70 is where to go.

You can just do things. You can help turn this country around. People will try and stop you, but they really can’t do anything about it.

I like flying electric cars and I like very simple pickup trucks that can be easily engine swapped.
Easter Egg: Every Runabout will come with a stout engine designed for longevity. But…..the engine mount in the chassis and the transmission tunnel are also designed to accept common swaps like the LS, K, and B58 from day one for customers who like to void warranties. We call it a doomsday hedge…you call it what you want.
