People are missing the obvious risk here. He is married. What if Lori Huang, his wife of 41y, decides to divorce him. She will likely get a good chunk of Nvidia stock, which, if she is like other tech billionaire ex-wives, she will likely begin selling. The Black Swan no one saw.
U.S. intelligence officials believe a woman who had a romantic relationship with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was recruited by China’s Ministry of State Security to spy on him and collect information, according to officials briefed on the matter. - NYT/FT

🇫🇷 French Presidential Election 2027: 4 key takeaways from Polymarket & Kalshi ⬇️ 🥇 Marine Le Pen remains the clear frontrunner (45–47%). Her legal path to running in 2027 has reopened following her appeal ruling while the fragmentation of the political centre continues to work in her favour. The National Rally also maintains a strong electoral base with recent polls putting her above 30% in first-round voting intentions. 🥈 David Lisnard climbs into second place (15%). The mayor of Cannes is gaining visibility as a pro-business, economically liberal alternative to the traditional centre-right. His recent surge on social media has helped attract attention, although his prediction-market momentum remains far stronger than his demonstrated support in conventional polling. 🥉 Jean-Luc Mélenchon remains firmly in contention (14%). Despite his polarizing image, he benefits from a loyal electoral base and the fragmentation of the French left. His chances of reaching the second round remain credible although his high rejection ratings could make winning a runoff significantly harder. 📉 Édouard Philippe continues to collapse (8.6–10%). Once considered the natural successor to Macron, he is struggling to distance himself from the president's unpopular legacy. Competition with Gabriel Attal, fragmentation of the centrist electorate and a campaign struggling to generate enthusiasm have pushed his market odds sharply lower. ➡️ Christine Lagarde is emerging as a wildcard (6–7%). Her announcement that she will leave the ECB early in February 2027 has triggered speculation about a potential presidential bid. With her international credibility and economic expertise, she could appeal to a centre-right electorate looking for an alternative. However, she has previously ruled out running, and no concrete campaign preparations have emerged. *Bottom line: Prediction markets are pricing in a fragmented political centre with Le Pen benefiting from the absence of a convincing challenger. However, it is worth noting that these figures reflect betting-market probabilities, not voting intention polls.

I support and defend women (and know several) who have been coerced and abused for real, sexually or otherwise. I want to beat the crap out of men who do, despite not being violent by nature. It makes me even angrier on behalf of abused women that there are some women who are apparently sociopathic enough to leverage #MeToo to make false accusations and ruin innocent men. They make it harder for truly abused women to be believed. They are indeed vile and evil. I’ve long advocated for false accusations of a crime to have criminal and civil consequences matching the crime itself. She should answer for this in more ways than civil payout, namely prison.
Wow. This woman is evil.

If you’re wondering how the real economy and credit market is doing, I encourage you to look at the collapse of the recreational RV industry, a leading indicator of near term recessions. Here is a summary of 10Q of Camping World, one of the largest recreational dealers in the world. Not everything is about debt maturity dates. Bad things are about to hit the manufacturers based on retailer earnings. Revenue declined 12.4% YOY New RV unit sales declined 25.4% Used RV unit sales declined 8.1% Gross profit declined 16.0% Adjusted EBITDA declined 62.4% Camping World warns that failure to refinance its senior secured credit facilities could leave it without enough liquidity to repay debt or finance new and used RV inventory. Refinancing uncertainty: Management acknowledges that refinancing may not be available on acceptable terms. New financing could carry higher interest rates, additional fees, and more restrictive covenants. $1.28 billion term loan maturity: Approximately $1.28 billion in senior secured term debt matures in June 2028, creating a substantial refinancing requirement. Potential acceleration of $1.25 billion in inventory financing: The floor-plan facility normally matures in February 2030 but could mature in March 2028 if the term loan is not appropriately refinanced, repaid, extended, or defeased. Borrowing capacity already restricted: Although approximately $60.1 million was otherwise available under the senior secured revolving facility, leverage-covenant restrictions reduced immediately usable borrowing capacity to approximately $22.8 million. $823 million in floor-plan borrowing capacity is restricted: Camping World reports approximately $823 million in additional inventory-financing capacity. However, borrowing depends on eligible vehicle collateral and applicable facility requirements. This is not unrestricted cash. Management’s 12-month liquidity assessment: Camping World believes operating cash flow, existing financing arrangements, and other capital sources will be sufficient for at least the next 12 months. It also cautions that those sources may prove insufficient. $343 million inventory reduction: Inventory decreased approximately $343 million from December 31, 2025. Reducing inventory releases working capital but cannot indefinitely support cash flow without affecting future sales capacity. $488 million operating cash flow: Camping World generated approximately $488 million in operating cash flow during the first nine months of 2026. Inventory reductions contributed to cash generation, making the sustainability of operating cash flow important. $286.7 million goodwill impairment: Camping World recorded a substantial noncash impairment in Q3 2026 after operating performance fell below expectations. The charge does not directly reduce cash but signals deterioration in management’s valuation assumptions. Approximately $138 million in nine-month interest expense: Floor-plan interest and other net interest expense totaled approximately $138 million during the first nine months of 2026. Management estimates that a 1-percentage-point increase in interest rates would add approximately $26.6 million in annual interest expense. Potential early debt acceleration: The company’s credit agreements contain provisions that could permit lenders to accelerate repayment following specified triggering events. Management indicated that it did not believe an acceleration event had occurred as of September 30, 2026.

This is what happens when excessive speculation meets a BURSTING BUBBLE: The 3x leveraged long South Korea ETF, $KORU, has dropped -70% since the start of October, to its lowest level since December 2025. From its June peak, $KORU is down -90% South Korea's chip stock bubble has massively unwound. The 2021-2022 bear market looks like peanuts by comparison. Meanwhile, the KOSPI index is down -46% from its June peak, to its lowest level since March 2026. $EWY $SKHY Leverage in South Korea turned a speculative frenzy into an outright market collapse.

This was one of the biggest factors behind the tech crash. Leveraged ETFs faced a record $56B in selling - an all-time record. The real problem is that these ETFs are FORCED to sell. These products must reset their exposure daily. When markets decline, they need to reduce their positions to maintain their target leverage. This creates a vicious feedback loop. Falling stock prices lead to mechanical selling on rebalancing which pushes prices down even further. South Koreans got wiped out by these products earlier this year and it's wild to see it happening again in the US.

The Bitter Lesson is that if you get really rich you can pay experts to make proprietary RL datasets that nobody else will be able to afford, keeping the frontier for relevant tasks closed to everyone else no matter how clever they are about training approaches

Tax the rich? Start with the billionaires that call themselves universities. They have tax-free multibillion-dollar hedge-fund operations and sprawling portfolios of prime real estate.
Large universities have become real estate funds with classrooms as an alibi.

True. But sadly the majority of the society does not fall into this bucket.
Let me be blunt. Those who are afraid of AI feel deep down that they are impostors & have no edge. If you have a 1) clear mind, 2) a deep, not just cosmetic, undertanding of your specialty, 3) and/or are original enough to reinvent yourself when needed, AI will be your friend.

First time I’ve seen anyone close to the mainstream biz press even suggesting Anthropic might not go public or that it might get valued below $1 trillion
If Anthropic’s valuation drops below $1 trillion in the event of an IPO — I’m going to say it probably shouldn’t go public. There’s been a meaningful amount of volatility in markets. That could last a while. The buy side has been pretty stung, deleveraging meaningfully, with the potential for more. That adds volatility to public equity markets. The most recent jobs data and growth metrics prop up the macro — giving way to another rate hike. Growth is supposed to slow against that backdrop, with liquidity tightening. What’s more, a blue wave could still portend a debt ceiling debate next year that could keep rates elevated in the long end. Conditions are expected to tighten further. Yet companies have been successful in raising capital in smaller increments and keeping spending plans modest. With equity and debt market still very open (the VIX has not hit alarming levels by any stretch), and $4.5 billion in private capital dry powder on the sidelines, they are better off waiting at a value under $1 trillion.

I tell my students to instinctively distrust any "emergence" claims about LLMs (and read "emergence" as "training"). We don't need magical phrasing to appreciate the usefulness of these mega-trained models.. – at Holden Heights, FL

Don’t be fooled. Too many apparent LLM breakthroughs aren’t, and for the same reason: the model was previously trained on the tasks.
